Yes. I didn't say "There are NO athletes or parents who know anything about this." I said not all. The HANDFUL of moms I spoke to were not aware, and neither were their children (athletes on these teams) of the details of this event - mind you none of them go to CA, so I would assume BlueCat has done a better job of conveying the info than the gyms I was referring to.

I think most of you are looking at this as coaches and fans. I'm looking at it as a mom. As in "the person who has to pay for all this" - so no, a trip to Europe wouldn't necessarily be tops on my list of prizes (fully paid or not, it's going to involve some kind of money). And having an extra trip to Indy just casually thrown in might be something I'd like details on, especially if it was NOT for a Worlds bid. Now I live in Chicago, so I can travel to Indy TODAY if you ask me to, but we're talking VA, NJ, TX here. When you start talking plane tickets, missed work, missed school, hotels, etc. I'd like to know why we're going. But maybe that's just me (and maybe it's not...since that's what the people I've talked to are freaking out about.)

So come on down and we'll have a beverage :D

Wow if they pay for flights and rooms for the winning teams...that is great .Is that written someplace, I couldn't find anything about flights and rooms being paid for. Thats about 60-72 CPs, say 8 coaches, close to $100,000,just hard to believe. I still think they will have problems getting a full team to England. Family members costs, passports... on top of the travel fees you have already..

I guess the problem then is theirs and not the two teams that win. I can't imagine they haven't thought this through at LEAST a little bit before making the offer.

It'll be interesting to see these teams working with the JAM scoresheet.. I don't think I've ever seen Cheer Athletics, Cali, ACE, or Fame at a Jamfest event?

I too can't imagine them NOT having thought this through before even offering it. By mentioning it now, they're giving everyone PLENTY of time to get passports if they don't have them already, I'm SURE coaches already discussed family costs if someone wants to go, and I would hardly be surprised if they offered group tours at a discounted price for them if they'd like to see the area. Plus, Jamfest Europe isn't until early June. They have a good 5 months or so even AFTER the competition is done to get last-minute stuff squared away. I doubt Jamfest would go through all the trouble to do this and then just dump everything on the winners and say 'Have fun, figure it out!' They want to make this the 'It' thing, they're going to make sure everything's 110% on the up-and-up.

ACE has been at lots of Jamfest events. Warriors won two or three large coed championships in a row at Super Nationals at one point.

I agree that there are far too many "national championships." I think that makes us look silly. However, this event is not being promoted as either a national or world championship.

not to get off topic about the majors but i also agree. when i've worn my national champion jackets out/to school i've been asked how it's possible to have more than 1 national title a year since it's assumed that there would be a few national competitions a season vs. the hundreds we actually have

What teams compete is Jamfest England? Is it just teams from England? I'm missing what makes Jamfest England a big deal, I'm not down playing it, I truly don't know anything about Jamfest England . Is it just the great trip.

I agree...USASF Worlds has become enough of a capitalist carnival as it is....I do like the exclusivity of The Majors, however...It at least gives off the impression that they're genuinely looking to honor the best of the best in the two divisions they're offering instead of collecting a profit from several hundreds of teams.

I know the SS were invited and they declined. I don't know the specifics but I can't imagine it's money or scheduling. Those girls love the titles and glory (as would anyone) and I don't think they'd pass on the opportunity to be the first champion of this exclusive event if there wasn't some other underlying reason to say "no thanks."

Those girls love the glory and title just like any other athlete. Isnt that why we compete? Title equals accomplisment of goals.

Life is not all about glory and title and one has to balance everyday challenges Competition schedule set and 3 flight deposits paid. Flight costs nearly double from lasy year. Economic challenge. I personaly dont have unlimited funds.

Challenge 2: school. Kids can only miss X amount of school days. Current comp schedule maxes out days aloud.

So yeah i say "no thanks" to this great opportunity regretably because of challenges or obstacles outside the cheer world.
