at cheersport regionals in stockton a few years ago i was front and center for jumps and my bow fell out. the judges table was riiiight up against the competition floor. i watched their eyes follow it down to the floor and they ALL started writing.

it scared me sooo bad lol. we didnt end up getting a deduction but jeeze.

Hmm at one of my hs comps a girl on my teams bow fell but we didnt get a deduction. We did get deducted for a girl having bracelet on though.

i thought you were talking about a stunt falling and i was like... uh wow.

i think there was one competition that there was no execution score. so if you had full squad tucks and 98% of them busted, youd still get points for every single one.

it sucked. there pretty much wasnt even a point to competing.

Last year we got disqualified because a girl was wearing a hair tie on her wrist :(
And this year at counties we got disqualified because of an "illegal stunt" and the illegal part was a handstand onto a sign in a cheer stunt...so annoying.

I remember being at one competition (I don't remember which) where if any judge saw you practicing ANYTHING like motions, dance moves, jumps, even marking it, you would get a deduction.

at most bigger all star comps i don't think you get a deduction for a shoe or bow falling off. at cheersport, my flyers shoe fell off during running tumbling and it was in the middle of the floor for the rest of the routine and we didn't get a deduction. it was kinda hard to base her when she only had one shoe though. then at a jamfest nationals a girl's bow fell off in the very beginning of the routine and we didn't get a deduction for that either.
At Spirit Fest, my friend's bow fell off and I don't think we lost anything over that.

SC high school teams get some silly deductions. A girl got one for a tiny anklet that was tucked in. (30 points out of 300). You can get it if your hair is too long and you're wearing it half up half down. It can't touch your shoulders.

This private school got a 30 point safety deduction for stepping on one of their signs. You can see how she barely even grazes it on the left hand side at like at 1:27. It knocked them from State Champs to 3rd place.

When I was a freshman, our varsity didn't make it to state because they had 'inverted baskets' at regionals. 5 points per stunt group. They never had that deduction before regionals so it was absolutely heart breaking to the 18 seniors on the team. It was also the most talented team my school had before 2010. Since this incident, the deduction has been lowered.

You can see it at 2:06
