ATTENTION EVERYONE!:
I come from the program with the mother who got injured. I just want to update you all that she is OK! She has stiches, and last that I heard.. she's being admitted for an MRI. It was a very scary moment for our program, but we want to thank EVERYONE for the support and prayers for the mother and her daughter (who's on my team, and was extremely shaken up). This really made us realize what a family this sport really is and how much love and support we have for one another! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

- The Stellar All Star Family !!!
I am so happy to hear it was not serious! Keeping The Stellar family in my prayers.

At a competition in England a while ago, the announcer asked that a coach/representative from each program go on the stage for a meeting type thing with the EPs (no one from the audience could hear what was being said). Afterwards my coach said that two girls from one gym had randomly punched a girl from another gym (who I think was around youth age, she was definitely younger than them) when they passed her walking down a flight of stairs . They wanted coaches on the stage to tell them and ask them to remind athletes about sportsmanship.

If there was definitive proof, I would have loved to see that team disqualified and make sure all the team's members knew who to "thank".

I don't know whether they were or not, I don't even know which gym they were from, coaches weren't told at the meeting. They just got told what had happened and that the coaches of the girls had already been notified.

Last year a WSF competition had a bomb threat. They evacuated and got so off schedule most of our teams werent able to compete. Who wants to bomb cheerleaders? Just annoying and weird.
we were there for that one. it was COLD outside waiting forever. The bad part is that my husband builds all the light up signs for aviator and we left them in the building when we had to clear out. We heard they were checking the building for bombs and we all thought of the signs.....wires...black electrical tape.....batteries.....

thankfully, they didn't think they were explosive light up signs!

I remember that. I was standing in line between warm ups and competing when it happened.
I was there for that one. It went off right after I looked around the sardine like awards ceremony and said "well, THIS is a fire marshall's nightmare." There were WAY too many people in that venue for what the arena could handle.

Several years ago one of our cheerleaders was on an esculator and her shoe laces got caught. She severely sprained her ankle and was unable to compete both days. She was ok after a few weeks..
ALSO; This year we competed at UCA Nationals. If anybody was there they know the weather was horrible. Rain and wind plus very cold. We competed at the Indiana Jones Arena which does not have walls. The workers were putting down fresh towels to walk on so the cheerleaders wouldn't slip. I am not sure if they realized but the floor was soaked and the roof was leaking. My daughters stunt group slipped in the water (a puddle) and came down. Luckily they were OK, however they dropped from 1st to 3rd place due to the drop. 6 out of 7 teams slipped in the same area. I am still surprised UCA didn't shut down that venue. :starwars:

.

this. this is why i've always had an irrational fear of escalators :p glad she was eventually okay and injuries were minor!

I have a really gross story. I'm not sure if I should tell it, but whatever. I was spotting at UCA Regionals here like 4 years ago. Team comes on, performs. When they walk off the floor we realize that there's a used tampon just hanging out on the floor. Of course, at first I wanted to vomit. But ever since then I still can't wrap my mind around how that would physically happen. I just don't get it.
