I hope one of the important questions is:

"How can we get all coaches to be members so that membership has a voice?"

I hope another is:

"Who got feedback from our customers before this week? Why didn't we?"

I think you attempted to inspire with your post to the ASGA in reference to the Doral conference, but ultimately were disrespectful and quite ignorant. Honestly, to infer than in years past no issues have been resolved and only spoken about is quite absurd. Maybe you should go and be a part of it to find out what really goes on instead of deciding that nothing happens.
Speaking as someone who attends Doral (and will be leaving shortly for another) I 100% support what SharkDad posted. Yes, some things are ironed out, but with this years fiasco's it's clear the "process" still needs some work. All too often there is "talk" about how to fix "x,y,z" but rarely action. I think the NACCC is a great meeting of great minds. I also think that it is a bit overwhelming in that there are still so many things that DO need to be ironed out. I in no way read into SharkDad post that "nothing is ever done, get off your butts and do something" I read it as, "this is a great opportunity make the the most of it."
I will say my MAIN frustration with the meetings in the past (particularly last year) is that things are discussed, decided upon, then ignored, so to get on here and call SharkDad "ignorant" is not called for. Feel free to address me, because I have been a part of this process, I am very active, I am a member, and I am annoyed that my voice was heard, I was told one thing was going to happen, then another. I pay good money to be a member and to be involved, I do have expectations and I should. With all that being said, at least there is effort, even if NOTHING gets done, at least this meeting is a platform to be heard. I am sure this meeting will have many voices.

yojaehs thanks. I am confident I understand what goes on and by whom, it was good to have it verified by you as a participant.

If you are there now I know people would love to get updates on what is being discussed

I would love some updates. I wish I could go but we had to put the kibosh on some of our trips this year. Gotta save money for a new facility and all...

Still find it interesting that the agenda has 2 hours to discuss all the concerns of the coaches/gym owners and the EPs get 2 hours with the Executive Committee. I appreciate there are too many gym owners to give them all an audience with the Executive Committee, but for them to reserve 2 hours for the EPs amplifies the concern about where their priorities are.

Forgive my ignorance here, but is the NAAC (sp) the Varsity/USASF version and the ASAGA (sp) an independent version of the same sort of organization?

I have been out of town since Friday so I am just now seeing this thread, but is there a way that someone there can bring up the problem of the illegal athlete (underage) issue and teams being able to attend worlds the following year in the SAME division when the Worlds Packet says that they should not be allowed to obtain a bid at all.
I have tried to get through to the USASF only the be told that they are "forgiving" of Non-US teams and that there is no rule in the books about attending worlds the next year. I sent screen caps from the worlds packet and everything only to get absolutely NO WHERE. Maybe if a gym owner, coach, or EP would bring it up at one of these meetings they could get a real answer. There was a US team just recently who was told that because they were disqualified that they couldn't obtain a bid in the same division for the 2013 worlds, but the team from Germany that was disqualified in 2011 was allowed to compete in the same division in 2012. If the US teams will be penalized for it then something needs to be done so that the non-US teams will be as well.

It's NACCC

I'm having a hard time figuring out what you mean by ASAGA to compare for you. Do you mean A.S.G.A as in All Star Gym owners Association?

So yesterday there was discussion of a tiered credentialing process that promotes coaches background checks (details coming). Also there was a lot of talk about what is demanded of athletes. So discussion of how to adjust scoring to promote longevity. Holes were poked into many suggestions, no simple solution but we are trying!

Can you pretty please with sugar on top find out for me how to get credentialed as a coach while not associated with any gym? Is it even possible? I've gone through many rounds with a USASF rep and can't get an answer.

You can become credentialed as an independant member. Send me a PM and I'll get you the registration form and help you find the right person/register.
