I liked how they made the athletes the "stars" of the competition. I like the fact that we pay to see them, and it's not them paying to compete. I enjoyed watching all of the videos of the kids preparing for the event; the lights, each athlete's name being announced as they took the stage one by one, and the coaches praising their teams at the banquet. It made my CP and her teammates feel special. I'm surprised that there aren't more fans. There are so many detractors of the "Cheerlebrity" phenomenon. But, at this competition, each team member gets their small moment in the sun. That made it worth it to me. That's what Worlds should be like. An event where you've "arrived". Not one of many, but one of a select few! These kids deserve that, all cheerleaders do, Imo!

Not only was it awkward I have a feeling it was staged. I'm betting they had already invited and talked to them all and this was just a secondary fake call for the cameras.

That's what I mean, like clearly they had to have known they were calling. And they were so awkward about it. Then the coaches pretending to be excited...I gave the stank face to my computer the whole time.

Can we talk about how awkward the video was when they called them to "officially invite them"?
That was really wierd if you ask me, I mean what if they turned them down... On camera. I am pretty new to cheering but I haven't ears of the Beatles until now.

Wait now that I see everything else that was said it would not surprise me at allll if was staged the whole thing was VERY scripted...
