I'm really rooting for VAS to take this one it'd be amazing to see a Canadian gym get a full paid.


As an aside to this has a Canadian gym ever won a full paid bid before?

No Canadian team has ever won a full paid bid because no event in Canada offer them. PacWest is the only competition in the states where a Canadian team can come and compete for a bid, so if Ice Queens receive a full paid tomorrow they will be the first Canadian team EVER! and They would basically make history haha

They are apart of UA. Its their quarter season team for high school cheerleaders. In Illinois you can only do one competitive team until after high school states. Most gyms in Illinois do quarter season teams for that reason.

Are you sure?? PACWEST website has South Elite AllStars with the full paid, and 3 other American teams with at large. And there's been nothing on FB from Twist. I pretty sure Lisa and Kenny would be all over that news. I'd love for VAS to have received the full paid though

You're right. Weird. There's nothing on FB from VAS either. I looked on PACWEST under 2013 results. VAS wasn't even listed in awards, nor their division, but World bids were. Is there anyone who was there who knows??

just looked at the 2013 results for PacWest and its wrong it says that SE Senior Med Coed Diamonds received a full paid but they already received a full paid from UCA

okay this is both a comment and a question.. to start off i searched as far back as it went to see if this was a discussion and couldnt find anything. With maryland marlins at worlds 2011, I couldnt help but notice on day 1, brea was wearing a knee brace. On day two when she tore her acl, she wasnt wearing it. The injured knee was the one she had a brace on the day before. does anyone know brea or know why she competed day 2 without it? I have always been extremely curious!

I don't know brea, but I can tell you that the brace she wore on day 1 wouldnt have prevented tearing her acl! In fact, when I retore my acl my surgeon said an ACL brace wouldnt have prevented it. Obviously, she had been having some sort of issue so she possibly could have partially torn it and was trying to fight through it. She may have stopped wearing it simply because it didnt help the pain on day 1

In a level 2 pyramid is it legal to have a prep bracing more than two extension libs at the same time (i.e. one person bracing on upper arm, one on lower arm on each side)? I can't see anywhere in the rules that it's illegal, but I don't think I've seen anyone do it before

All kidding aside I do know what you mean. I think that's a grey area that I have seen done this way: middle prep bracing two extended sides with another middle prep behind the first. The back middle prep just TOUCHES the hands of the extended sides while they are bracing the middle and the sides do stuff they normally can only do with two bracers. The rule doesn't say it has to be on both sides so they get away with it. I've seen it done at level 1 (extended outside stunts) and level 4 (outside flips)
