A word about Rays. They have been on my mind. This was a bad NCA for them! Everyone is complaining about how unfair their scores and placements were. Ha! Rays L5 teams were flung hither and yon in placements and in scoring this NCA. Raw score of did NOT even matter. Usually, NCA is where they shine. But, this was not their year. Just wow!

Most gyms would kill for 7 NCA titles. That is a awfully good "bad" year.

Cali - 13
Cheer Athletics - 9
Stingrays - 7
What is the percentage of titles won this weekend per number of teams that attended? Looks like 40% of Cali's teams brought home jackets. How did CA & Stingrays do?

ETA: it's very impressive to bring home the number of titles all of these gyms brought home. Congrats! Very impressive work out on the mat this weekend!

I think ca brought 39? I read that somewhere so cheer athletics would be roughly 23 percent

We brought eight from our location. I think 4 or 5 of them took first in their divisions. There are two other locations that attended - Livermore and San Marcos. But since I can barely keep track of our teams, I'm not sure how many teams came from those two locations. :)

The Livermore gym brought 6 teams, 4 took 1st, 2 took 3rd

The pro's of the weekend.
1. The new back drop or set
2. running on time
3. Justin Carrier, as always, a class act.

The cons(imo)
1. parents not being able to see their kids perform(due to overcrowding and or having to use the bathroom)
2. How a team can go from 23,24,or 25th and not have a total clean routine day 2 and take 3,or 4th or 5th.
3. watching the opening video before awards.. always the same teams.
4. rude parents and cheerleaders not moving(legs or giant backpacks) so someone can get out. then cussing you off for being in their way..
other then that.. I had a great time! lol

I have watched some truly amazing athletes this weekend.
You pay all that $ and you can't watch your kids perform! Nice:mad:

I know they're local (or mostly local), but that's still an impressive number of teams to bring! I watched them on the live feed and was really wowed by the teams I saw.

Just to throw it out there, Spirit of Texas brought all 12 of our teams and took home jackets for 5 of them. Also, all 3 of our Worlds teams were in the top 10 overall for the competition.
Love spirit of Texas! I thought y'all had more then12 teams, your gym and lower levels (not just your level 5s) are so amazing! I bet y'all grow even larger! Definitely my favorite Texas gym outside of Stars!

Hopefully we have more then 8 teams next year!

I think they really try to control our growth and that helps to maintain quality across all levels...JMO of course. We've had success with teams at all levels this season, and as a parent that makes me very proud to be a part of our program.

Your gym has definitely earned everyone's attention this year! I know several of us were discussing how good y'all were at ACA back in January.

This is for all the seat savers out there...
