There's a 7 year old at my gym and she has all her level 3 skills and most of her level 4 skills. She can do a round off 5 back handspring whip through to tuck she's amazing

There's a 4 yr old in out gym with a tuck. Her mom doesn't do any extra pushing. She just takes her to tumbling twice a week and she gets a private once a week. She went from having her kick over in August last year to a tuck last week.

She's 4 years old and has tumbling 3x a week, including a private, and you don't call that pushing?

Sadly there are many like it.

Can I just direct deposit my pay checks to the gym?

This concept really blows my mind. I did not grow up in a Cheerlebrity generation (for reference, when most of the current 10 year old instagram "cheerlebrities" were born circa 2003/04, I was in college already.)

I can deal with the older girls because they choose that, but this thing with the little kids in Y2/Minis with parent-run instagram accounts is weird.

The most perplexing part of the entire phenomena is that you look at the bio and it says:

"For booking inquiries only: [email protected]"

1. SHE HAS AN EMAIL AND SHE CANNOT READ.

2. WHAT IS SOMEONE BOOKING HER FOR?

Since we were discussing her earlier... "Cheer baby alyss" is having surgery tomorrow for an unknown mass they found in her brain today. :(

Maybe on top of team practises? I wouldn´t say it is pushing, it´s okay for a 4 year old to be at the gym nearly every day....

No I don't call it pushing. She's there 2 days a week for tumbling, 2.5 hours a week total. If she tells her mom she doesn't want to do it than her mom doesn't make her do it and the leave. She enjoys being there.

The thing with this is that cheer is not like say, gymnastics where you will peak around 15 and thus, need to be tumbling heavy at 5. The majority of elite level 5 kids were not throwing tucks at 4. There is really no need to move so fast. You have your whole career to be Level 5. Who wants to peak at say, 7? Or worse, get to be 10 and decide you just don't want to do it anymore because you're burned out?

Sidenote: if a kid is 4 and doing tucks, I'd really like to see their technique because I am willing to bet that her coach is probably rushing skills.

She's only been doing it for about 2 weeks now. She hasn't quite perfected it, but she can do it. Coaches at our gym won't let you move to a new skill until you've mastered what you know. Perfection before progression.
