@12stepCheermom - I was reading recently about taking gelatin for joints. I have one that dissolves well in water (I add it to smoothies and even my coffee.). Check amazon.com for Great Lakes gelatin in the green can.

I did a "worlds diet" last season (which wasn't really a diet at all lol) and it worked very well for me! It is really just staying away from things you know you shouldn't eat, drinking massive amounts of water, drinking protein, and exercising outside of the gym. The exercising part is difficult because it may make you sore for practice, but I promise it works!
 
How about we share some yummy snacks too. This is a quick little salad that lasts in Tupperware for a good while in the fridge.

I don't have the recipe with me since I'm at school but my family makes this really great guacamole-salsa that is basically big chunks of avacados, tomatoes and smaller piece of onions. There might be something else in it but I don't know what. So refreshing!!

I did happen upon a pre-packaged snack pack at Walmart a few weeks ago I'm in love with. Had some apple slices, grapes, cheddar cheese and a little pack of almonds! It was super tasty!

Probably make it and package it myself for a lot less money too!

It's really easy to make your own bars! :) Easy snack to take with you.

You mix bananas and your own choice of nut butter (just make sure it's 100% nut butter, not 90% sugar..)
Add whatever seeds and nuts you like
Just mix in a bowl (so you the nuts are spread evenly)
Put in in a oven dish
Heat in the oven on around 300 F for about 10-15 min :)
 
I make quesadillas with peanut butter and bananas and a few chocolate chips in them.... they're really good and filling
You just make it like a normal quesadilla (if you make them in a pan/oven that is, idk if it would be good microwaved) but make sure you put the peanut butter on before you start heating it or you won't be able to spread it because it's too melty

Not a diet, but I always tell my girls.

Look at everything your friends are eating at lunch and after school.

STOP EATING IT.

Eat the opposite.


They're having Coke, drink water.

They're having M&Ms, have a protein bar.

They're having Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, get a salad (grilled chicken with light dressing.)
 
My basic rule of thumb for eating is shop the outer perimeter of the store. If it's in the aisles, chances are it's not good for you (obviously there are some exceptions like grains and nuts)

Another rule we go by is if it can go bad, eat it. If not, ask yourself why it can't go bad. Probably something in it that IS NOT FOOD.

If you must venture to fast food try to Chick Fil A salads! I'm a huge fan of the new revamped ones. Also check out the wraps and side options most places offer. They aren't the best things in the world for you but they are a better alternative to the sandwiches and fries.

Also for those with a sweet tooth like me I like to keep a box of these in my freezer. A much better alternative to most chocolate snacks.

...When Chick Fil A got rid of the Chicken Caesar wrap I waged a war in the drive through....and then I came back to see if I could just get a wrap with caesar dressing and they told me they didn't have caesar dressing anymore....so I dramatically sped off in disgust....

Nobody wants my healthy eating advice since it doesn't exist....although I do go through periods where I live off of baked sweet potatoes (with light brown sugar) and edamame.

I LOVED THAT WRAP TOO. I was so upset they got rid of it. But the cobb salad and avocado lime ranch dressing makes up for it to me, haha

But sometimes I really do crave a good chicken caesar wrap and have no idea where to get one anymore.
