Wow I really miss the way routines were in 08 and 09 :'(

Me too 2008 was my absolute favorite year in cheerleading and 2010 was the last year that I really really enjoyed watching routines. Too many routines these days look too similar, it makes me really appreciate certain teams like Cheerforce and Top Gun who continuously put out lots of creativity in their routines.

This was the last year I did an open team. For some reason I feel like they didn't have the "Fashionista" dance all season and they did it for the first time or one of the first times in MB at BATB. This was back when you could safely be near the front of the stage without getting nearly trampled.


I remember watching Kelsey tumble to the front corner during her pass. She said Something to her mom that started with "Mom". And then her mom was like "Go! go!" And off she went.

I didn't know it was Kelsey until later on since I've never been one to know athletes names

Speaking of... Does anyone remember Stars' 2009 Return To Atlantis dance to Shout? It's the only time they ever competed it and it was SO good

Was 2008 or 2009 when Betar (or something like that) tore her ACL and still competed at Worlds? Or I am making this up my head. I just remember someone tore ACL and still competed.
And 2010 was the last year I liked watching cheerleading. Now WCSS is the only team I really really like.

I was there too! But in the corner where the video was shot. I remember that routine like it was yesterday, so amazing!

Betar was like a "cheerlebrity" to my team lol she was awesome!

That was @WHOA tiger's video, I was standing right beside her when she took it. I remember her saying "people on the ProX boards are freaking out I need to get this video uploaded!" and since she lived in Myrtle Beach she was the first one home to upload and thus the first Fashionista video was born.

That comment also lead me to the Xboards, and 6 years later here I am.

I'm not even a Stars fan, and I can appreciate the glory and artistry that was Fashionista. If I forever associate pyramids with SE 2010, I will forever associate dance with Stars '08.

Stingray fallstars was the year my old coach from Dynasty went to Gerogia. I was crushed to see a video of purple because I've always been a huge GA fan.


If some people didn't know about purple 08' then I feel old saying that I remember when the divisions used to be novice, intermediate, etc. which was one of my first years competing

Oh how I miss unlimited coed rip.

I always loved the Fashionista dance but my favorite Stars dance of all time is the Latin one from 2010. I know I'm probably not the popular opinion saying that but it was amazing.

They danced to "word up" by Korn. It was an alright dance but I'm so glad they changed it! I will never forget this worlds routine. It was the first time I ever went to worlds. Great memories!

They danced to "word up" by Korn for most of the season. Definitely not the normal type of song/sound that stars dance to but they made it work.

Yeah she competed a whip through to double and a two to double the same year (I believe she tore it in the summer after the 08 season if I remember correctly). That girl was a beast.
