I told myself I couldn't watch the last run. So I hid under my blanket and missed the first 2 tricks. Once I heard everyone cheering I started watching and I'm so glad I did. That was amazing!
I lifted it over my head every time he would go into the air, then peek long enough to see him smoothly gliding out of each one. I don't think I actually took a full breath until his scores were out! I loved the raw emotion that followed. His dad saying he's never actually seen him cry and him apologizing he took until the third run to do it, lol

Anyone watch the pairs short? I hate that the Knierim's had a rough go of it, but I can't help but enjoy them. They are just so genuinely happy to be there. I reallllly loved the Chinese pair and am happy they are in first. The Russian pairs usually have more of a spark that I felt like they were missing last night. It's very close though so it's anyone's game tonight!

The media sucks. Shaun White has been one of the best Olympians our country has had, and the guy barely is off the slope before the tools ask him about the lawsuit against him. Of course he isn't going to be able to answer appropriately. I'm so pissed that the media intentionally set about to tarnish his accomplishments.
In all fairness, a lot of the most vocal pundits (i.e. Christine Brennan) have been calling him out since they came out in 2016. He's just back in the news now so it's naturally going to come up. Most of the other news sources are just jumping on for page views since no one particularly cared two years ago.

The Russian's were flat last night. And Duhamel and Radford looked rough and I hope they can polish up for the long. The pairs field is so deep this year it's crazy.

The Chinese pair's performance just felt so seamless and kept my attention the entire time. They really played to the music. I found myself almost bored with the Russians. I was also pulling for the German couple but he doubled that jump and they had some other issues and they seem pretty fair back now.

I just....want the old Patrick Chan back. I know that things change, but I miss 2011-2012 Patrick.

I have such anxiety watching skating now that I close my eyes whenever anyone jumps now.

Also, can we talk about how insane snowboard cross is. That's another one that gives me anxiety.

I love love love watching him skate. His edges are so beautiful. It sucks that I have to hold my breath every time he jumps now.

Really happy he finally got his gold.

I love all the cross sports - snowboard cross, ski cross. So much fun to watch

It took us a while to get going but GB now have 3 bronzes and a gold (go Lizzy Yarnold!). Happy for our little island!

Heartbreak for Elise Christie again though :(

Sweden is soo good this Olympics! 4 Gold and 3 silver! Yay! So far! We still have a few chances left. In curling both teams are undefeated.

I'm glad Nathan Chen was able to pull out that free skate performance for his own sake. He was capable of that the whole time and his nerves just completely got to him. I don't blame him, though. It's his second year in seniors, he's only been to one Worlds (where he got 6th) and the media hype was probably just too much. Vincent Zhou was great too, and it's great to have all 3 American men in the top 10.

Free dance tonight should be interesting. I'm pulling for Virtue/Moir but the French are right on their tails and can make up that distance easily with a performance where she DOESN'T have to worry about her costume falling down the whole time. Poor girl.

I'm completely ok if she shows up tonight in duct tape. Apparently it happened to someone else last night?
