Yes iPhone not sure about androidIs it for apple?
Probably depends where you are. Were you thinking World Cup again? IME, half year teams are typically lower level, but some mega gyms are able to put together half year level 5 teams, so if she's still throwing her L5 skills, that may be an option.I was just wondering, my daughter after 3 years of semi-retirement from AS cheer she wants to comeback... Should she wait until next season or join a half-year?
Btw, what is a Half-year team like?
Look in to the half year teams. It's a great way to ease back in after being away for so long. It will probably be less disciplined and less competitive than what she is used to, but if she understands that going in and uses the team as a way to build back skills then it's a great lead in to a full year team next season.I was just wondering, my daughter after 3 years of semi-retirement from AS cheer she wants to comeback... Yes, she was at WC and now everyday she is talking about missing AS cheer alot! I noticed WC was advertising for a Half-year team, but was not sure if my daughter will get the same competition she is craving... I have to admit my daughter has not done any L5 or even L3 tumbling, so she is very rusty... But are Half-year teams as competitive as Full year teams?Probably depends where you are. ETA: Your daughter was at WC before, yes?... I hope I'm not confusing you with another user.
I usually see them run as prep teams, so I'm going to say no. If she goes into it with the intention of knocking off the rust and getting back into routine-shape, it could be a good experience. It's not going to be Twinks though LOL.Yes, she was at WC and now everyday she is talking about missing AS cheer alot! Thanks for this great advice... I responded before reading your message, so you answer my inquiries...Look in to the half year teams. It's a great way to ease back in after being away for so long. If after tryouts you find the team isn't a good fit ( too different of an age group/skill level), there may be a possibility of filling in for a full year team depending on the gym.

Haha. I got sooo excited/emotional last year when I got to change mine from "retired from cheer" to "athlete". I still haven't changed it back because I don't want to accept that I'm done again lol.WARNING:
I'm overly dramatic in every part of my life so it's only fair that this applies to FB as well.
A couple of years ago I became teary eyes when I was able to change my "I am a(n)..." from an athlete to a coach the same is true today that I get to change it from coach to industry professional super pumped for this new journey!
Thanks for this advice too and I noticed many open teams forming now and the way my daughter talking she misses the travel, competitive nature of the sport... My daughter is 15, but her competition age is 14... I will ask about the open teams, which I believe fits her schedule better...Yeah the only areas really forming half year super competitive teams are states like Illinois where the high school rules are super strict so there's groups of highly skilled kids coming together in December. In NJ, I'd say the highest most half year teams are going is level 3. And still, pulling together a group of level 3 kids may mean their ages are all over the place.
Like the others said, it'll depend on her mindset. If she goes into it as a fun mini-season to get her skills back and be in the gym, she'll probably do great. Or she may be bored and crave the higher skill level/faster choreo/etc. You could always reach out to the gym with her interest and have them keep her in mind if they need a fill in. I vaguely recall her being an awesome backspot? If she's over 14 and the skills come back pretty quick, a team like WC Lazers (or other open teams - not sure of who else is having them this season in NJ) may be a good fit as they're L5, more competitive but usually a little more lax than senior worlds teams and I feel like most open teams end up with openings from some college kid or another getting hurt/quitting/not being able to attend a comp. I'd def ask around! You never know.

Focusing on my career. Plus my body is too old hahaIf you dont mind me asking, why are you not on the team this year?
