They have 2 floors at the convention center...i remember they had a golf show the same time as a cheer comp...poor golfers.
Sidenote: I remember at Spirit Sports I think last year there was a dance competition in the DCU Center the same exact weekend right near all the meeting rooms. Pure madness.

Of course.

Due to the extreme winter weather currently impacting the Northeast, convention center offices are closed. Unfortunately, we will not have a confirmed new date for Spirit Fest Nationals until Monday, February 11. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to reschedule Spirit Fest Nationals.

Well, I have made hotel reservations all over CT for mid March. Perhaps I should move on to other states while I wait ;)

Hopefully the time has come to cut them some slack. The Convention Center is closed today, delaying when they can meet/speak to determine the new date. I am sure Varsity & Spirit Fest are just as eager to reschedule as everyone (gym/athlete/parent) is for them to reschedule. Patience is a virtue.

If ever there was a question of whether Spirit Fest should have cancelled or not, I think it is safe to say it was an excellent idea. The Governor of Massachusetts just had a press conference and said any cars on the road after 4:00 tonight could be faced with a fine and up to a year in prison. Definitely a high price to pay to get to a competition!!

Right?! I have the Marriot booked every Saturday in March - maybe I should move on to Mohegan or the Omni in Providence...

Booked Mohegan just in case. Well, not casino - too pricey for me, but nearby.

It definitely was a smart idea to cancel the event, it is terrible here in CT and definitely not a safe place for anyone to be driving in. I really hope they find a new venue!!

Cannot believe they would even consider putting a car in prison for up to a year. :p
