I found out about a year and a half ago that I have an eye condition that can slowly take away my vision, so I have to go for yearly tests to make sure that it isnt getting worse. My mom called today to make the yearly appointment and they were like well has she noticed it getting worse? I haven't noticed anything, but that means nothing. I didnt even notice it was getting worse until I got my eyes checked and they mentioned I had swollen optic nerves which meant visits to specialists and then to UW Madison. They said I didnt need to come back unless i noticed it getting worse, but my mom said they told us to come back every year. They called me back and when I explained it to the lady on the phone she said it was fine and she'd get an appointment scheduled for me no problem. I was told at my initial appointment that theres a low chance it wont completely take my vision and if it does it wont be until im in my 60's, but we needed to get check ups to make sure its not getting worse. Its only my peripheral vision that it effects, so its hard to tell without getting the test if anything is happening.

Summer welcome made me so excited for next year! My schedule kind of sucks since the majority of my classes are on Monday, but I'll survive it I guess. 8 AMs Monday Wednesday Friday though -_-
Ugh we can cry together cause I have 8ams Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. I was supposed to have them all week but I was able to take a different class instead of the 8am but then I added a once a week class on Tuesday thats at 8am

*Grey's Anatomy spoiler alert even though pretty much everyone knows about this because the internet exploded when it happened*

Grey's Anatomy season 11 got put on Netflix and I just watched the episode where Derek dies and I honestly almost started crying. I'm embarrassing.

There's nothing more annoying then having to go to the hospital ...but even worse is when you deal with people who just have no clue about things they probably should lol

I'm type 1 so I got put in observation right away since they wanted to make sure I wasn't in DKA (very bad).
Had 2 nurses at first and he was asking questions so I said yes I had ketones yesterday and again ketones aren't good. He says "why would you test ketones? " so my mom says well she has type 1 diabetes and he says "oh well ok that makes more sense because I was going to say that's really random".

Then the other nurse then says oh you're type 1 are you on pills or insulin? ......... My mom and I were looking at her like she was nuts lol

I have a GI virus but I finally am starting to feel better! They gave me zofran and IV fluids. Just hope I'm better by Sunday for Father's Day.
Zofran is miraculous. I've been taking a chemo-type drug for 6-7 years for my autoimmune disease and it makes me feel so much better.

Anyways. Hope you feel better!!

I have class on Monday from 8-4:30 with only 1 hour off. Two of those are once a week classes (intro to IMSE and my chem lab). I'm going to email the honors chem professor though and try to get into that class because then I can move my lab to Tuesday or Thursday and I only have one class at 9 those days. The lecture is the same time regardless -_- 8-4:30 is a long time especially on a Monday
The one positive is my 8AM chem is in the building right across from my dorm so at least I don't have to leave super early!

Yikes! On Monday Wednesday Friday I'm done by 10:30, Tuesday is 9:50, and Thursday I don't have class till 6 at night but it goes to 9:35. My major is small so all classes only have one section each time theyre offered so you take them when they schedule them unfortunately.

That's great and yes I'm gonna ask for that next time for nausea. And thanks! I'm feeling better already so hoping it gets better :)

I doubt we have the same eye condition, but I feel your pain!! Do you have to do ERGs? I have to drive an hour into the city (NYC) to get a bunch of xrays at Columbia yearly and it's a big pain in my @ss

My adviser wasn't exactly that helpful about switching my schedule which was super frustrating. He had me in two science classes and no math expecting me to just jump in to calc 3 my sophomore year which would be two years since actually taking calc. Then I tried to switch stuff around and a ton of classes are full or conflicting times. I was so upset about it at first and the appointment was a mess. I went to the building at 8 just to find out that my spot was moved to 9, so I got up way earlier than I had to and was tired and annoyed. Then it was supposed to be 15-30 minutes but ended up almost an hour which made me late to the Greek life meeting and it made me so much more upset. It was quite a stressful morning and all before 10AM! Now I've napped and am in a better mood and I'm more used to it but it's still going to suck. Let's hope the honors chem professor lets me in even though it's full so I can have a little break on Mondays!

Nope. I have Optic Nerve Drusen. I guess I can go pretty much anywhere that has the machine they use to check to see if its getting worse, but its easier to just go to the same place since shes one of the best in the area and they have all the other tests that I've had done. Like the first time I went I had around two hours of tests that I had to do and it was torture.

I've had black hair for the majority of my life and I just got blonde and light brown highlights yesterday to start slowly transitioning to blonde and I'm SO excited!! Like I am obsessed. I was going to wait until a 3rd appointment to go full blonde but I think I'm just going to do full out it next time. I am such a girly girl so this is so much fun for me lol

Hopefully it all gets better! I've had 8ams before and while they suck, you get into a routine pretty early on in the semester which makes it easier. I would always show up with a drink and a muffin or scone since I never had time to eat breakfast and my professor always laughed at me for it.

Going blonde is so much fun! I dyed my hair brown in December after being blonde for 2 year, and just got highlights so I'm in the same boat you are. I remember being so excited getting my first set of highlights! It was right before the end of seventh grade and I had begged my mom to let me get them. She told me maybe 2 days before that she had scheduled the appointment as a reward for working so hard all school year. I flipped out, lol. Have fun!

ugh i HATED night classes with a passion, i only ever had to take two while in college, and one was a sculpture class so that wasnt to bad. but i remember having to take a history class and the only way i could fit it into my semester was to take it at night. it was the worst decision i ever made. lol. history was my least favorite out of all the classes i was forced to take, and having to attend it at night made me want to stab myself repeatedly, plus i had a horrible professor. i knew after a few weeks i should have dropped it but my mom said it was a bad idea, so i stuck it out... and guess what........

i didnt pass it and had to retake it the next semester. lol i never made that mistake ever again and if meant scheduling my first class of the day at 7am to be able to fit them all in one day or however i worked it back then. i did what i had to do to avoid taking any night classes after that.
