Has ICU always been two days? For some reason i always thought it was a one day thing on friday. Never really paid close attention to it before though haha

I don't know how i feel about the fact that in paracheer they have teams with different disabilites compete against each other. I feel like if the divison gets bigger they need to split it because comparing the two teams that just competed is practically impossible

I was under the impression before today that the paracheer division (like the Paralympics) was physical disabilities while special needs cheer division (like the Special Olympics) was for mental/developmental disabilities.

Maybe Team Costa Rica's coaches misunderstood the difference because of a language/translation thing? Because USASF has a special needs division already, as does the special olympics.
I thought that paracheer was an attempt to create a cheer division that could one day be a Paralympic sport, hence why it is at ICU as opposed to something else since ICU is fighting to make an olympic sport of cheerleading.

That's what i was thinking too! I loved watching Costa Rica because i love Special needs kids, i just don't want them to go home disappointed

Agreed. There's a reason the Special Olympics and Paralympics are separate things, it's not really fair to either side to pit them against each other. Especially since they both divisions/teams have very different goals.
I hope Paracheer really starts to pick up in the coming seasons with attendance from more Countries, and I hope that Team Costa Rica competes in the Special Needs division at IASF next year instead.
