I had to go facebook stalk but I didnt see where the gym itself closed.

ETA: Apparently parents paid May tuition, uniform and registration fees only to show up for practice and find out the gym closed. No notification to the parents at all.

OMG... that's crazy. I went to their facebook page that used to be called Cheer Factory Florida but is now called Cheer Factory Training & Consulting. I found this review:

"This gym was ran extremely unprofessional. My daughter came home with bruises and a broke spirit every time. Not to mention before he changed his status to training he was a full fledged gym that quit on all girls after accepting all payments! The only way we even found out was by showing up for class! I highly recommend anyone to stay as far away from this atmosphere as possible. A lot of talent but definitely gotta sell your souls to the devil for it!"

I was going to ask how a gym goes from summit champion to closed over the course of a few weeks....... But I guess I got my answer :eek:

I don't think that the above comment is the real answer, in fact it does not give any answers at all. It only states they closed but not why. For me the real answer would come from the owner of Cheer Factory not some mom that is clearly upset. Two sides to every story.

Scorpions vs. needles. Coaches! Please make sure you athletes know the difference between these. If they pull scorps okay cool, if they're pulling needles, make sure everyone can pull a needle

As a (former) athlete that had a "needle" (we always called them straight leg scorpions), I never thought it looked bizarre to have both positions in the air. And as a (now former) coach, I have felt the exact same way. I've always viewed them as the same body position.

Maybe if it was just one girl that had a straight leg scorpion and the rest of the team barely had doritos, I would think differently. But if that was the case I would probably just not put that body position (a scorpion) in the routine at all and send the dorito top girls to a flexibility class.

this came to my mind

i like the look of a needle but im not big on forcing kids to have a needle just because one flyer has it. Make the needle flyer pull a regular scorpion and call it a day.
Or put the needle in the middle for balancing out purposes, most people wont think twice about only one flyer in my opinion.
coaches who force stretch kids all because of one kid, is doing so much more harm then good. Those kids knees will be ruined by the time they hit their 20's. I got to learn the hard way, 29 year old with knee pain of a 70 year old.

I would rather see a whole team of clean scorpions than a couple of ugly, strained, incorrectly-pulled needles.

How many teams do we see nowadays wrenching their legs into wobbly needles, looking like they're gonna break their backs? When instead you could lower the leg a bit more and have a lovely set of scorps.

If you've got the flexibility and strength to pull a proper needle, then go for it, but it's honestly pretty rare.

I'm late to the party about this..
Bring back straight wrists.

There is no way you are on a globe-winning worlds team with bent wrists in a stunt.

I saw it too many times.

Make Wrists Straight Again 2018.
Not only was i seeing THIS on globing teams...but donut holes facing the wrong way in their high-v's. ouchhh, my soul...what happened to the fundamentals :(
