Really? And the both of you (or the one of you) should talk? I don't smiley faces with their tongues sticking out on my posts or call people names. Hysterical! Ha Ha.
And by the way I meant no harm...all I was trying to say is it is a bit early to predict how many teams your gym or any gym will have this year. My gosh some gyms have not even had tryouts yet.

What are you talking about? Obviously your new just as your screen name states. I think my history speaks for itself and I'm not disrespectful to anyone. All of the facial expressions are meant to be in fun which is why the boards have provided them to all of us and you're turning into something it's not.

The East Brunswick location had 1 day of tryouts and is only 30 people shy of last year's number, and there are still over that number that are preregistered to come on saturday. So it doesn't matter how many people have left, there were still a lot of new faces.

Yeah, thats about what I figured... the turnover rate doesn't seem to have really been very much effected by this

Why is everyone so testy.... or defensive....??? People are simply stating opinions. Only time will tell what happens with the 'merger'. Different gyms, different styles, different rules... will lead people to make decisions that are in the best interest of their child and family. I am sure the families involved will make their decisions based on what will work for them. One thing is for sure, change is never easy and if there are Comets that yearned to join another program, this is a natural time to do it without inciting anger from their original home. I am certain people would understand that the CJA regime may not work for all- therefore going to another program, whether it is WC, or Star or Just Cheer is acceptable and not necessarily traitorish.... ( is that a word?)

Where did anyone state the word traitor? Families have the right to choose where they'd like to be and I for one would not want anyone to be around at any gym if there didn't want to be there regardless of what gym they come from. Freedom of choice is just that, FREEDOM.

hmmmm.... funny how words get twisted. New2level5 I feel your pain. Yes, people have a right to be members of any gym. Yes, families have the freedom to go wherever, whenever they want. But don't try to tell me that when a cheerleader leaves a an established- continuing program to go to a different program that the gym they leave doesn't get in a huff and take it personally. Maybe not always but many times they do.... so.... all I was saying was IF a cheerleader was already contemplating a move from the Comets ( from which I understand many were and that is why this is merger is in the talks....) , NOW would be a natural time to do it without feeling they abandoned their former teammates and gym owners.... The current Comet girls don't have to feel as they HAVE to go to CJA just because of a decision their owners made and they have the FREEDOM to make their OWN decision as to where they want to cheer. I am not saying don't go, or do go, all I am saying is that this is a natural time to make a gym switch because the current gym is changing anyway. Like I started my last thread- why is everyone so testy and defensive....? geeez.....

I for one am not a Debbie Downer so I'm not sure what you're talking about...I will admit, however, that a lot of my posts have been defensive in nature due largely in part to some uninformed, passive aggressive posters who try to disguise negative opinions as truth or mix the truth with fiction just to start drama. extremely annoying and these weaklings (there I said it) need to be called out, especially when they use the old "I didn't mean any harm, "It's just an opinion," or "You must've misunderstood what I meant" excuse. Yes, it's your opinion. Yes, you hoped to get a rise out of someone. No, no one misunderstood your tone.

I will also admit that most of my retaliatory posts have been a waste of time because, as Tamra suggested about Alexis on The Real Housewives of the OC, you can't argue with stupid.

This obviously doesn't apply to 95% of you; I enjoy reading most posts as a little stress reliever throughout the day :p:);).

OK!

Well, we know it wasn't a rumor. Curious to see what teams will be fielded.

It seems like your the one who is defensive because you just stated the same thing I stated in my post that you quoted lol. They have the FREEDOM to choose wherever they like. It's there decision. So what are you talking about?

Just wanted to give my perspective on this as our program did this same thing this season. Liberty Cheer merged with Nj Spirit Explosion to make PA spirit explosion. Theapia the director of NJ has always worked with my daughters team so the girls on her squad were used to her. My feeling has always been the more the merrier, it has been great fun having so many teams to cheer for at comps. The parents on both sides have been great, my cp has made some great new friends, and the more people available to coach and support our kids the better lol. In our case the staff in Pa stayed the same with some new additions. We've had a great season which will end after this weekend at US finals and we are looking foward to the years to come. I'm sure that the new CJA will be great I wish them the best of luck in the coming season.

Congrats to CJA and Comets! I think it's a great thing! How will you incorporate the names? How about Central Jersey Allstar Comets? When Cheer Explosion merged with their rival NJ Spirit, they became NJ Spirit Explosion. The 1st season was one of the best season's together and the kids were rivals. They became one and stomped everyone that year. Enjoy your 1st year together and make some memories!

It will continue to be CJA. There will be 2 locations now. Looks like the "Comet" name will not be used.
