Cheer Athletics in Indy! Looks like I may just back to make the incredibly long drive to see this.

Also I hope that this info will be added later, but how are teams that are medium senior going to compete against large senior teams? Will the large senior teams have to cut athletes or will the medium teams add? Hmmm interesting.

I don't get the purpose of this? Is it to create another title for teams, highlight certain teams in only two senior divisions, a push to consolidate the divisions down to two, or someting else I am missing? Call me jaded but I can't imagine Jamfest is doing this just because. they want to...

"honor and celebrate the athletes of these teams for their accomplishments in the sport of all-star cheerleading".

No offense to that div, but I wouldn't consider that as a "draw" division for a competition company, that's prob why there isn't a mention.

No I get what youre saying, but this division is definitely on the rise and is becoming pretty competitive. This comp just looks like any other "big" comp where these team already compete against each other.

It's my understanding that all teams competing in "The Majors" will not be eligible for worlds bids.
That is interesting. CEA got paid bids for both SE and CE at JamFest this past year. I know Top Gun usually attends but has their bid before they go, but hasn't F5 gotten their bid there in the past also?

That doesn't make sense - show up to participate on kicking this new "Major" competition off and you are not eligibl for a Worlds bid? That doesn't seem right. I don't think that is accurate information - it doesn't say anything in their announcement.

I was also told that those competing in this would NOT be eligible for worlds bids. It's a different comp, just at the same time and place as Super Nationals.

hmmm interesting So they can't participate in both "the Major" and the Super Nationals. Just the one...

Per the website: Research has shown these two divisions to be among the "most watched" divisions.

While I would agree with Large Senior, I would argue that medium coed (or the old Large Limited Coed) and Small Senior have been more watched than Large Coed from 2009 and on...

I don't fully understand the purpose or benefit of The Majors quite yet so I will refrain from commenting on whether I like the idea or not, but I do not like the idea that it is taking place at the same time and place as Jamfest Supernationals. If Jamfest wants to produce another Worlds or honor "the best of the best" in what seems to be an exclusionary event, then do it another time and let the focus of that weekend be on the programs and athletes who are there for Supernationals. Again, all of the details haven't been disclosed so I don't know how this is going to work. I do like the idea of a trip to Europe, though!

when is another good time to do that though... why would Jamfest want to have these teams get together on a different weekend that may conflict with their current comp schedule and set up an area to perform and compete for only 10 teams in total... that just would be silly.
