In the end, Worlds matter mosts to the majority IMO. I would rather call myself a "World Champion" than a "NCA Champion". At Worlds, you compete against EVERYONE. NCA, while giant, does not compare in the number of teams you have to beat out to win in most divisions.
levels 1-4 is what makes up all star cheer, so i'd have to say you're wrong there. JMO

Can I choose an NCA college ring instead? They are prettier and you get to design your own, but you also have to pay. I would probably pick the worlds ring though because I don't think I would get much use out of the jacket, it would really just collect dust.

Question, does anyone have a picture of the jacket they handed out when worlds first started? It was a jacket right because I remember hearing that they didn't start doing rings until 06.

level 5 is the majorities goal however... and considering only level 5/6 can go to worlds, it makes it that much more prestigious. Yes, you can be the level 2 senior champion at NCA, (and not to take away from that, because that is an awesome accomplishment)... but that does not mean you are the best of the best. The best teams are level 5/6... it's a fact. I would rather get 3rd at Worlds than 1st in level 3 at NCA.

My daughter has won several NCA jackets and has 2 World's rings and they are each just as important as the rest to her. So much excitement, blood sweat tears, team bonding and memories are tied into each one of them and could never be replaced. She is in college and still wears one or the other of her NCA jackets and always has her World's rings on her fingers. Each time she looks at them she relives "that particular team" in her memories. So, for her, the answer would be BOTH are just as important to her. She feels blessed to have them and never takes them for granted. She may never win another of either, but she still has her sweet memories of the teams she was blessed to be a part of those lucky years.

ZitaPrincess, yes they did win jackets. I'm thinking maybe a whole sweatsuit but I'm not sure. We have friends in our gym who have it back when our Sm. Coed won the year Worlds first split Large and Small Coed (the 2nd year of Worlds). I haven't seen them wear the jackets in a long while, though, so I can't remember what they looked like.

Ultimately, in the club divisions, it is just "USASF Champion" or "NCA Champion". USASF has (by rule now) the only one with "World" in its title, but NCA has night and day better production values, history, and venue. NCA also has a more balanced and polished scoring system. NCA has MANY more spectators, so a win there is seen by far more people.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. The teams that form the top three of the club divisions go to both more often than not.

I would also like to add that the production of the NCA WIN, is 10 fold better than World's. The Champions Room, is priceless!

To me it is like the difference in the UCI (cycling) World Championship and the Tour de France. There are probably some cyclists who would rather be called a "World Champion", but most would probably rather win the TDF yellow jersey.

Other examples of events that perhaps overshadow or at least rival the "World Championships" or even the Olympics in their sport: Indy 500, Ironman Triathlon, Boston Marathon, Masters, Wimbledon, etc.

To the outside world, the title of "World Champion" obviously appears to be the best of the best, while NCA stands as, argueably, the most prestigious competition in the cheer world. So it's a matter of whether you like bragging to your cheer friends or to everybody else more!
