Oldest I can find. I know the oldest one has a MD Terps cheerleader on the cover, if anyone finds it post it!

Kirsten Dunst's new cheer movie...
I wonder what it could be!?

Nope, the very first American Cheerleader had Jenn Hunter, from Conestoga High School outside of Philadelphia. American Cheerleader used to have the Cheerleader of the Month as the cover model-not a celebrity who used to cheer.

I know, this is just the oldest one I could find. I always thought it was the Terps cheerleader from 95, woops

I think I would have passed out if I had seen HS girls doing a full; much less 5. Our "star" tumbler was a girl whole could do bhs all the way down the basketball court. Where we live opened a new mall. The first few years it was open, they had a cheer competition. You had to make up a cheer about the mall. LOL.. but I remember those girls doing these routines on the little blue mats on top of the mall concrete floor.

I loved watching the videos above. I remembered them from when I was in college (aye yi yi). I have fond memories of those white high tops with scrunched white socks. And no one was allowed to wear their soffes rolled down but everyone wore all pants/skirts at their natural waist anyway.

Ohhhh so many fond memories... what a fun thread :)

I remember when there was no specific cheer make-up so we were forced to wear craft glitter on our eyes and lips (yes, CRAFT glitter) and we would keep it on with hairspray! I have absolutely no sympathy for the girls who still wear glitter and claim it's impossible to get off!

When I first started cheering we were treated like celebrities at almost every comp we went to because it was mostly high schools.

The "cheer" and "all music" divisions... and begging to be "all music"

Varsitys polyester shorts with the 3 white lines down the sides... I owned 4 in every color.

Being invited to double team onto the "Elite Open Team" was the best thing that could ever happen to you.

Full baskets!!... scared me to death but were always my favorite!

Oh that reminded me, I used to spray my uniform with hairspray the night before, put fairy dust (glitter) on it, and spray it again and let it dry over night so the glitter would stay on. This was before everyone discovered spray glitter! They used to sell those tubes of fairy dust in huge bottles at competitions and I remember begging my mom to buy me some.
