Not answering for Court but the 2011 Jr team in Dallas had 34 of the original member's on it. Only 2 were new add's to the team.

From the inside looking out my interpretation of the word "tryout" means this is what you were doing 2, 3, 4 months ago, etc. Is this still true? Tryout at this point in time in the season to me means re-evaluation of the team and their individual and collective skills. Not necessarily open tryouts to the whole world for all new teams.

That's just my interpretation as someone with a kid in the program.

The year I'm thinking of was when they were small junior coed and they beat us. I believe Cali junior coed won and CEA came in 2nd. We were 3rd. I remember people talking about it all over facebook how they were taking their top 20 athletes from jr. elite and jr. coed elite and making one team for Dallas...Now that I'm remembering, it had to have been 2 years ago so 2010.

And this is not uncommon practice from what I've been seeing on twitter... It seems that many world champion teams are having "try outs" again to get the best team possible for worlds. What wins at NCA/Cheersport/Random bid event is not necessarily what wins at worlds.

At the end of the day, I feel like the power of social networking is simply exposing some of the long held "secrets" of mega gyms and what makes them successful. We have thousands of us that can watch videos, and keep up with competitions across the country, which was difficult to do in the past.

Any Jr team that was small came from Raleigh, so they wouldn't have been a compilation of the best 20 athletes from Jr Elite and Jr Coed Elite who come from Kernersville. Not to mention Raleigh has their own talented kids without needing any help from Kernersville. (Just my biased opinion though. LOL)

All Jr NCA teams from Kernersville would be large. Some year's they're all girl some year's they're coed. 2011 I already answered and 2o10 was large all girl if my memory serves me correctly and they won Jr 5. (2010 Raleigh Sm Jr's also won their division so not really sure what year you mean. I remember because YE, JE and SJX were all in the jacket room together celebrating)

Could you have us confused with someone else?

Part of the confusion I think is that a "crossover" for us is ANY athlete that is also on another team. Like NCA's policy, if there is 1 athlete that competes on both Team A and Team B, then we view BOTH teams as having a crossover.

Nope, they were small junior coed and it was 2010. Holden was on the team and he's a K'Ville athlete, right? I could definitely have the names of the teams wrong though. I don't really follow them that closely. I just remember that CEA had a small junior 5, a large junior coed 5 and a large junior all girl 5 and they took their best 20 athletes and put them on one team for NCA. I know Holden was on there for sure. The rest of the kids I have no idea. But I had two families specifically from CEA tell me this exact info on the whole "tryout for Dallas" stuff.

He has competed for both locations.

Now that I think about it, maybe CEA did win that year and Cali got 2nd...But it was definitely coed. I just know they beat us and we were 3rd. lol

You can go to varsity.com and go to videos and go back to nca and they have the videos from 2010 listed and I believe the results also. Listed for CEA that year at NCA was Sm sr 5. Int open. Int open Coed. Large Jr 5. Youth 5. Small Jr Coed 5. I did a quick glance so I may have missed a team lol :)

Holden is 1 of those kids that has no home city so to speak. LMAO He goes where he wants to go. But he does not live in Kernersville, for the record.

Raleigh Sm Jr Coed won in 2010 with Holden on the team. This was NOT a compilation of the best 20 kids from all of the CEA Jr teams. This was a team made up of kids from Raleigh for the Raleigh team.

Kernersville Large Jr All Girl team won in 2010. (We had a Jr Coed 5 team that year too, dragonflies that didn't go. Kind of the JV team of Jr Elite)

Again, I'm going to go back to my definition of "tryout" at this stage in the season.

Nope that's all of them.

At NCA in 2010 CEA won large junior 5, small
Junior coed 5 and youth 5. All representative of the teams chosen at tryouts. Both junior teams were equivalently talented one from kville one from Raleigh. You are mistaken on your
Mega team junior tryout theory. As superstitions go we tend to have better luck in even years

I cannot state with certainty that what I said was true as I do not know any of the kids from either location other than Holden (because he's a boy of course) so all I know is people, including some from within CEA, were talking about the whole "Dallas" team and what not. If my memory serves me correctly, it might have even been mentioned on CEA's website within one of the threads on there. I remember being saddened that my CP's team wouldn't have a chance at winning because we wouldn't be able to contend with that type of compilation of kids from all over. I remember being told to go to CEA's website to see it for myself. But what I cannot say for sure is whether there were any other athletes other than Holden who actually were put on the team as a new athlete for NCA. But if that is the case then why call it the "Dallas" team? I guess that's where I would be confused as an outsider...

Thank you for responding. It wasn't a theory though. I heard it directly from the mouths of people from within your program. But I'm glad to know that wasn't the case. Maybe the parents who were telling me about it were mistaken.
