Was your daughter able to compete on all four teams at the other events???? Also you mention your competition threw double fulls in the youth restricted division. The results show CEA competed in the youth restricted division by themselves. The other team in the regular youth 5 division was Cheer Athletics. Please dont bring them into this....unfortunately the more this situation gets explained the more questions I have.

From what I know about some gyms (not just CEA), they don't always bring ALL their teams to ALL the same competitions. Mini teams don't travel as much, based on how many gym bases in the program (like Fame has several) they might go to different competitions. It could very well have been that even if she worked 3 teams all season and assisted this one time on the 4th, they never were at the same competitions together, and if they were, that 4th team never needed her. Until Cheersport.

Stranger things have happened..

Just a side question for anyone who might know- who exactly is on the committee that punishes this sort of thing? Coaches? EPs? USASF members (who could be coaches of gyms)?

I can only speak to the Cheersport situation . I am not aware of any of the others that are being referred to so I will not speculate . I agree that it was bending the rules BUT it was not some attempt to cheat to win etc.... Again if it was an attempt to cheat why would she be on all four rosters ? In hind sight it was wrong and there is NO disputing that BUT it was not cheating in my opinion . Now if she were not age appropriate or she was not on all the rosters then SHAME on us but that was not the case . Bottom line is an 11 year old girl did a fourth team at Cheersport and that team was not even competing the situation was given the blessing of the EP . Lesson learned here is never do it again no matter who gives you the green light . A fine was paid and alot of hard feelings have been put in play . I just hate that it got to this point because for those of you that may not know the Popes .... They are super people who put their heart and soul into CEA and this industry in general . I have a little girl that loves them to death and she is not alone . This post is to only share this side of the story .. I do not expect everyone to agree with it but I felt like it needed to be out there .

I am not going to bring any other gym into this but to clarify my comment about the Y5 restricted team ( Kville ) this team was a large Y5 all season and the Raleigh Y5 was small . At Cheersport there was a competitor in Y5 that was also a small ( 20 ) so the Raleigh Y5 competed against them . The Kville team went Restricted 5 and only exibitioned ( and since they were exibitioning they ran a full out routine ) that included 19 double fulls . I hope this explains it a little better . Like I said before this was the Raleigh Y5 biggest comp of the season and a rare chance to have competition . The Kville Y5 went on to Dallas where they had competition .

I am asking the question based on his statement: "So this is the deal my daughter was on four teams last year ( it was going to be three ) but after the two Youth Elites were so good last year the plan to combine them into one was scratched and therefore they kept them seperate the entire season . Now there were only a couple of competitions that all four teams went to together . "

The other comps were OUR X evolotions events and also Battle at the Beach which was pretty much the same exact situation as Cheersport .. They split the two Y5 teams by Large and Small this time because there was a Youth 5 restricted division at BAB and please dont take this the wrong way but it would not of been fair ( sandbagging ) to drop down to restricted for this one . So both of our Y5 teams basicly exibitioned .

All I see is a coach who is looking out for her athletes and wanting to do the best by them. CheerSport, the authority on the day, gave the go ahead for this girl to compete on 4 teams, given that one was an exhibition. In my eyes I'm wondering 'what the hell has happened to CheerSport? Have they been penalised? Have they been reprimanded?' I think the greater fault lies with them. Yes there is the argument that CEA knew what they were doing but CheerSport is the higher authority and they gave the go ahead and for me that is where the problem lies.

Honestly, I was not there at CheerSport and have been gone all summer and had virtually no idea about this before Saturday night so I got the teams mixed up and the substitution specifics wrong but again that was over a hectic dinner. The young woman's dad cleared up my mistakes. However, I stand by my impression from listening to conversation that Courtney went into registration wanting the team by itself to exhibition, requested it, and asked about crossovers and was told by the most senior CheerSport staff to register it how it was registered.

It seems reasonable to expect some kind of statement or explanation... something... from both Courtney Pope as well as Cheersport officials (though, interestingly, few have called for their head on a platter).

When I search for the ceacoach profile on my mobile, it says the user has been banned. Perhaps that is why we have not heard from her.

I don't think Courtney would get a fair hearing on here and I think it would just spark everyone up again. StarshipTrooper and CEADAD05 have done an excellent job in explaining what went on, however, I would like to hear from CheerSport and find out why the USASF has done nothing to them!

StarshipTrooper I appreciate you responding to me. I'm also glad you and CEADAD05 posted because I was aware of a lot these facts but didn't know how to post it since it was a result of numerous conversations I have had since this weekend.

I wasn't sure where to consolidate the whole story, but it has generally been brought here so here are the facts:
1. A child performed 4 times at CHEERSPORT. Three were competition and one was exhibition. There is no instance of anyone out of the age grid for the team they were on or anything related to a bid.
2. A complaint was filed, USASF investigated, you all know the result.
3. Someone posted a MALICIOUS, SLANDEROUS blog about this and some very personal information
4. Someone started a thread pointing to these circumstances. That person alluded to the accusations, but included ages and bids to bait the rest of the readers. There are clear indications that this person had intent to do this since Thursday.
5. That same person posted a screencapture of the malicious blog...on purpose. . after it had been deleted TWICE by moderators, clearly with intent to ensure people got a chance to see it.
6. There are legalities involved now since USASF officialy sanctioned someone so don't expect to get a statement form Cheersport or CEA. The only statement I expect is a statement from the USASF Disciplinary Committee or Sanctioning Committee as is there policy. I will attempt to get that posted.

StarshipTrooper or anyone else please correct any inaccuracies I have posted.

This entire situation pains me a great deal. It has caused a number of people that I have lots of respect for to say things that possibly will permanently damage if not destroy their personal and professional relationships. If people had waited for facts before passing judgement the thread would have never gotten out of hand the way it did. "If this"..."If that" kind of speculating turns into rampant rumors like that thread did because people start to believe those speculations.

THESE ARE THE BULLYING TYPES OF ACTIONS THAT CAUSE IRREVERSEABLE ACTS IN KIDS. It happens in adults too.

I am formally asking imrichhowboutu be banned now. People have been banned for stirring the pot, I'd say knowingly and repeatedly spreading malicious slanderous acts of the type that he did is at least as bad as that.

Courtney, if you read this I am terribly sorry I didn't do more that night to stop happened. In hindsight I could have downvoted the thread and asked others to do the same so it would have automatically been shut down. I'm hurt right now I didn't.

Everyone please base your judgement of the Popes and CEA on only the facts, not any of the crap you hear. They are great people and that is a great program, but really no one deserves any more or any less.

(sorry for the long post. I had to get that out)

Not really much to explain about BATB .. I stated that two of the teams exibitioned and the EP was aware and gave the final go ahead . I can tell you that my daughter was reported for it also and she was reported for Battle at the Capital but only two of her teams attended that comp . The person doing the reporting got a little carried away on that one . All of these were apart of the original complaint filed and it ALL has been put in the USASF's hands and the final result has been disclosed and as the previous post stated there are legal issues here so I am pretty sure we will not here much more about it . I will leave it at that .

Did they both end up with banners and backpacks at this competition?
