tumbling is requirement in all levels. but no where does it say "for a team to be in a level 5 division they must have __ fulls", so how is that a fact? i think a team should have the ability to be in ANY division that they want, regardless of wether or not you think they're "worthy".
If you're a level 5 small team, lets pretend. You have 20 athletes. Only 3 of them have fulls, but you have level 5 stunting. Its allowed and what not, but the team as a whole isn't ready to be a level 5.
"worthy"? People aren't "worthy" of a team. Its who has the level 5 skills, will be put on level 5. Simple.

You said earlier, and i quote;
""too many tucks/layouts in tumbling" for a level 5 team, for a few reasons. 1. you do not know about their program. maybe they have level 5 team and a restricted level 5 team. the restricted team wont have full team fulls because chances are if its a small program they dont have enough level 5 athletes to choose from. does that mean they shouldnt make team? no."

Aside from the fact that that statement made 0 sense, reason number 1 isn't a true reason.
If the team is called "Susie's Allstars level 5" i'm going to assume their level 5, so why say "you don't know about their program they may have level 5 and restricted 5"
Second, restricted 5 allows fulls.

If a team doesn't have the majority doing fulls, then its not a true level 5 team, in my opinion.

No. No. No. No. No. No.
In order to score in certain ranges, a team is required to meet certain requirements tumbling wise, building wise, etc. Even to hit the "low" range, a number of level-appropriate skills (aka fulls for level 5) must be showcased.

I wish we a had a bowing/praising emoji

i really dont understand why you cant comprehend my post besides that maybe i should have specified that i meant regular, not restricted level 5, AND a restricted level 5. i realize that restricted 5 allows fulls, thats exactly why i said it. say a team has 25 people in their gym with a full and have a small senior team and a restricted 5. 20 fulls on the small senior, 5 on the restricted. im saying if its a small gym, 5 is all theyre going to have on a restricted because they dont have more people to field to a level 5 team than a large gym. in my opinion, 5 fulls, majority jumps to tuck and level 5 stunting makes a fine level 5 restricted for me. just me though i guess.

Sapphire's dance is SO good. That is what a dance should be. Everyone looked like they knew what they were doing, every move was sharp, clean, and hit with a purpose. Nothing bothers me more than looking away from the center group and seeing the people in the back look like they don't know what they're doing or just kind of doing it half heartedly

Anyone could be in any divisions you're right!! But don't expect to do well against a gyms that are hitting the score sheet. These levels were put for a reason. A) safety B) progression C) to be able to WIN as you execute A&B.

Why spend thousands of dollars (on tuition, competition, uniforms, hotels, gas, food, etc. )If you just want to be on a division that you aren't competitive on.

AndrewSky answered the score question so no need to elaborate more on it.

No offense but I sure hope you're an athlete and not a coach.

because some athletes would like to push themselves instead of competing a level theyve maxed out. my friends gym is starting a worlds team soon so athletes can have an opportunity to go to worlds. shes from a small gym, and the requirements are a jump to tuck. they'll probably only have about half of them fulling. they arent expecting to place well, but its an opportunity for athletes who otherwise wouldnt get the chance to compete on a worlds stage. im sure she'll LOVE to see that you think they arent worthy of going to worlds, just because they're lacking in fulls. but im sure your gym won worlds the first year they started a worlds team right? everyone has to start somewhere.

Which is why Restricted 5 was created. Everyone does have to start somewhere, and the restricted division gives gyms a chance to get their feet wet without having to go against the big dogs. A team with 5 fulls, 10 layouts and 5 tucks belongs in restricted. As someone who has sat through all of Worlds on many occasions, I don't enjoy seeing the teams who are just happy to be there. The end of season at larges make for a very long first day, especially since 90% of them are paying $25k for 2:30

I was going to weigh in here as someone at a gym who just did field their first L5 last year (and doesn't have one this year) but I'm reminded this is the videos thread.....and that conversation is probably better served in one of the various L5 team threads (especially the ones I remember related to having a L5 just for the "worlds experience") available at your friendly, neighborhood search bar.

i agree with this! i just dont know where people get their idea of how many is enough. i think its ultimately up to them and their coaches. they may not win, but if they have the skills, like it and want to push themselves i think thats great, and no one should tell them they dont deserve to compete that level!

There is more to the scoresheet on restricted then tumbling, if you only have 5 fulls you might loose a little in your tumbling score, but if you can out stunt another team put on a better routine, tighter and cleaner then you can win against another team with almost full team fulls, Jersey did have a fall and a safety and won over 4 other teams. So clearly they are not just looking at fulls.
