Almost every school I've ever cheered at with the exception of one private school I can remember have tracks...

Two schools we played share a stadium (not on either school campus) and it doesn't have a track. It's just field, grass, stadium. Needless to say we were trampled by the football players not playing on the field.

Track?!? Hardly any schools around here have tracks around their fields. I don't know if they have actual track teams or not.

Mats?!? We don't have no stinkin' mats! We borrowed a mat from a local university for tryouts.

Cheer teams around here never sit during football and may do a seated cheer or two during a basketball game, but that is it.

I see what some other schools have and then feel like we don't even make cuts for second rate.

NW part--near Martin and Paris. Both of which have large schools that probably have tracks.

Same! I can't remember not cheering on a track at all throughout high school.

The school we just left had about 500 students and it was pre-k through 12th grade.

Our new high school has about 500 students in grades 9-12. It seems huge in comparison.

Were a really small school so we don't really have a student section for basketball games (we do for football since it's our second most popular sport. second to cheer) so we sit on the end by our home basket, by our scoreboard.

We do not compete, but about 4 of us do allstar! Ranging from me being on level 2(don't judge I can't tumble to save my life but I can base any level 5 stunt you throw at me) to the other 3 being full fledged solid level 4 and 5. This year it ended up that we have our dream stunt group, with me and our level 5 flyer in the same group- so we will probably do a few Independent stunt routines at local comps sorry to go on a rant! But no, our school will not allow us to compete as a team!

Aw, that's how many kids are in my grade at my school! I'm trying to imagine being at a school with only 500 kids, I can't do it because I never have been! Is it a private school or just a small town? My mom works at a private school and they're probably around that size k-12.

There are about 200 kids at my school! (9-12) About 50 in my class. I consider 500 kids in the school big! Perspective is everything I guess

:shocked: wow! I'm not sure we even have a school in town that small. My elementary (k-5) was 750 students, middle (6-7) probably 800-1000, junior high (8-9) had 900, and my high school has 2,000 kids (9-12). It's crazy how drastically indifferent high schools around the country are. I bet your graduation ceremony is nice...
I actually laugh when i get emails from colleges that are like "1800 students". I'm like "yeah I don't want to go to a college smaller than my high school, but thanks..."

The school where I coach had a graduating class of about 225 and I thought that was huge.

Where one of my college friends coaches, the graduating class is approaching 500 and the school is of similar size to yours.

I couldn't imagine that! We had 3 kindergarten classes! And the whole town is 1500 people. I live in another town about 10 minutes away from where I go to school and there are about 200 people in the town I live in.

That is about the size of our old school. There are about 30-50 kids per grade level. The town has about 2000 people.

The new school seems huge with 100-150 kids per grade.

My sister graduated last year with about 600 kids in her class. They do a pretty good job trying to get through everyone in a reasonable time but no matter how fast they go itll still be long... Thought I was going to fall asleep, especially since 95% of her class went before we even got to her! The curse of a W last name...
