Every year my twitter feed is full of people discussing Eurovision and I'm still baffled by what it is

Imagine worlds but with singers/bands. And everyone gets to vote for their favorite team.

I do have a question..................... does the rest of Europe know that our UK Eurovision host is paid to be sarcastic and mean about every single act and aspect of the contest?

Its the kind of competition where every thing that happens can be explained with the phrase : "Because its Eurovision"

Europe people - who's watching Eurovision 2014?

I honestly just watch it now for Graham Norton's commentary, I feel like he is the UK's little secret and I absolutely adore him.
Don't think we get Eurovision in the USA but have seen some of it before. That is how I learned of lordi.

How does a country choose its band and singers?
I believe the country has their own singing contest and whoever wins that represents them at Eurovision. I used to like a Swedish pop star and she competed twice but didn't win in order to advance. Other countries might pick a different way.

Does anyone have any advice on being a step parent? My fiancé has an eight year old son. He doesn't dislike me, and he's not flat out rude, but does small, unintentional things that make me feel unwelcome. It's not affecting the relationship but it makes me really uncomfortable and quite frankly, it makes me angry and I don't know what to do.

For example, my fiancé and his son are sitting on the couch right now, and his son has his toys spread out over the entire couch so I can't also sit there. I can't move them, and my fiancé doesn't back me up because he doesn't realize it's happening. I'm so annoyed right now ugh.

Assuming this is a divorce situation:

Coming from someone who has a step parent, the child is probably angry with you. It's nothing you did wrong. They aren't trying to hurt you. But they want their parents back together. My dad has been married to my step mom for almost 9 years. My parents have been separated/divorced since I was 9. So nearly 12 years. I still struggle with their divorce. I resented my stepmom for a long time, until I was about 19 actually.

Please just realize this isn't your fault. It isn't the child's fault either, so don't blame them. It's a sucky situation for everyone, and it's hard to adapt.

Happy about our swedish girl Sanna for becoming 3rd at eurovision last night!! Sweden has a track record of not doing so good in a few years after the last win and we won two years ago and last year the eurovision was in my hometown or the town closest to me about 15 minuets away.

Well I had college tryouts this weekend and didn't make it. Kinda sucks to work your entire life for something and not be able to do what you love. Life's gonna be weird without cheerleading....

Ugh the weather is disgusting! My family was supposed to have an outdoor barbecue but it has been pouring rain all day. I've been really craving BBQ food.

But I do however enjoy laying in bed and reading all day.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that :( You can always email the coach an ask them what you need to improve on and the work on those skills and tryout again next year.

Oh definitely. My parents divorced when I was around 12, and I had some rocky years as a teenager as a result of that. I know the feeling all too well. It's actually a double divorce situation, and I went through the exact same thing. I totally get it. I just want to help make it not so difficult on him.
