JTV is paid to make CEA videos, so... He does. And does a pretty good job. It is not about publicity, it is about documenting our children's lives and struggles and successes. Down the road, I am going to be over joyed to have these to look back on. The fact that they show up in your feed? Either ignore it (which evidently you do), or change your YouTube setting so it stops suggesting them to you. Either way, I think people are often looking for things to get mad at. Like I tell my HS students, "the ability to ignore things will save you a lifetime of stress".

I think the poster was just complaining about the marketing type of videos that seem to be pretty common for CEA, and especially of SE - as opposed to videos of actual routines. I do notice that CEA seems to do those types of videos more than other programs (even though the one above was for the Majors, and not something only CEA will do). I also notice CEA seems to go out of their way to hype SE more than their other worlds teams, and seems to promote the Cheerlebrity status of athletes on that team in particular (for instance, the former high profile smoed flyer is seeming to emerge as the new face of SE as she is the one speaking for the team in a lot of recent videos). I know they have that JTV guy or company who is doing the videos and it's not directly them, but still - I assume they have some kind of control over what he/she/they puts out.

I actually do get a sense of what the poster was getting at - CEA really does seem to market themselves significantly more than other big gyms (well, except for the gym/team w/ the Internet show of couse ;)).

If I paid Justin to make videos, and all he provided was straight on, routine vids, I would be pissed. He is making art, and approaches it artistically. Parents/families don't see a lot of the backstage stuff... So we appreciate it. I really don't think it is marketing at all... It is what the parents ask for/are paying for.

Yes. CEA does market themselves more than other gyms.

But I wonder how many kids in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oregon, etc stumbled upon a CEA video on YouTube and said "Mom. Dad. That's something I'd like to try" and as a result they took their kid to the closest gym and signed their kid up.

Perhaps we should stop being petty and thank JTV and 2by2 and whomever else because they've had a hand in growing all star cheer

(Side note I don't watch 95% of JTV videos....unless it's a routine video and here I sit...unbothered by them being posted)

(Another side note... I don't think my then 8 year old niece "understood" understood all that she can become with all star cheer until she started watching Cheerleaders).

This is exactly how I find out about all star cheer. I saw a Cheer Extreme 2by2 video in 5th grade and loved what I saw!

Sorta like you complaining about the poster? If you dont like their post why read it? Or feel the need to post about it? The videos are to promote CEA and guess what? They are kind of hard to avoid on here. The same people keep posting them, so yeah I can understand how some would get sick of seeing them. Instead of attacking the poster, maybe realize they may have a point? (you can now give me my negative ratings and down votes etc.)
Haha! If you think about it, you know what the video is without hitting play. But you don't know what someone's post says until you read it. So you really don't know if you like what they said UNTIL you read it.
The JTV videos are always about CEA, we know this, so people don't have to complain every time they see one while scrolling.
We need a Fierceboard index, so instead of people writing a paragraph about how much they hate something someone else has already expressed a similar opinion about we can just type "See 2014/2015 videos pg. 74" or something. Lol

Will they blame each other? Will they blame the coaches? Will they blame the ice rink or early morning?

Off-topic but I can appreciate this.

The "outside factor blame game" as a coach is one of the most annoying things on this planet.

Kids after comps be like:

It was hot.
It was cold.
The floor is bad.
We competed too early/too late/after ________ Athletics and we were nervous.
They had the red floor out in warm ups and we've never used a red spring floor.
I tried a new flavor of PowerAde after warm ups.
We waited an extra minute to go on deck after warm ups.

Ok, but the fact remains that you still dropped like 3 stunts. What will YOU do differently next time?

True story! Like I said earlier, they take full ownership of those 33 long and agonizing seconds. Im very proud to be associated with this particular group of girls!

Although I agree with the principle of what I think you are trying to say, I think extreme temperatures, particularly cold, can play a huge part in performance. I think any athlete has the right to be frustrated or upset when the EP intentionally puts down a "bad" floor, or holds warmups outside or in an unheated area. It happens often and not only is it not ideal, but can be unsafe as well.
