I knew this post could become negative the minute the "level 4" comment was made.

Last year over 75? teams competed in Small Senior AG lvl5? The posts after Worlds are just as interesting. Many posters believe there are too many bids given out in the first place. Too many teams, too many people. This could very well be the cause, too many level 4 teams actually making it to Worlds. When you have at-large-bids left over and all the true level 5 teams have received theirs, EP starts giving them out to the rest.

For me there isn't pride in making it to the Worlds floor if you don't deserve it. You are just buying your way into the most elite competition. If a team isn't bringing the level 5 skills, then they shouldn't get to go. Layouts, tucks, Level 4 stunts should be the best Level 4 they can be, try restricted level 5 and go to The Summit competition and continue to work on getting the standard worthy of "Worlds".

PS...
Not all the kids were leaving because they were bored. Some left because it was too expensive to continue to travel as much as was needed to have good competition and still not be able to progress, aka my kid :)

One more weekend! I really hope NV gets a bid!!
If their routine hits they could have a very competitve chance for it... After yesterday though, they either had a really bad comp or have alot of work cut out for them this upcoming week. I know alot of kids in the area have been super sick these past couple weeks though, so alot of teams were struggling yesterday.

Yeah, it wasn't too pretty yesterday. Its a neat routine though. Were the two kids that collided during tumbling ok?

Oh I forgot about that, I sure hope so. I was sitting right by where it happened and it didn't look there was any bleeding, probably just a concussion. And it looked like the guy who hit his head was struggling the rest of routine so maybe that added to some of the drops/missed skills. He got helped off the floor by two teammates =(

Does anyone know how this competition works? It says "international championships" can only INT teams get bids to worlds or can senior age get them too? I heard they couldn't but then I heard they could? I'm just confused hahah

Bids are available to Senior or International teams.

Are all International teams - those from outside the US eligible to recieve bids? I thought I remembered reading that teams had to receive a bid in their home country. I am not sure where I saw it or if it applies in this situation. I see that in the AG Int 5 division there is a team from Canada. Would this team be eligible to receive a bid from a US competition to Worlds?

So we were just told by the person running the warm up room we have ten minutes on a full floor and there is 5 minutes outside in the hall way where we are expected to warm up our stunts and stretch outside on carpeted concrete right next to a fourth floor balcony (over a 50 foot drop).

Are there any usasf rules regarding appropriate floors to stunt on?

That's stupid. Last year it was stretching outside in the hallway, 2 min ish on tumbling floor and then 5 minutes on Full floor. That should not be allowed to do that. Possibility of injuries.

One of the partial paid bids is going to the team who wins the division with the most teams in it--small all girl. Which means Dream, Connect, Champion or Idaho will get a partial paid!
