Vanilla ice is not ballroom style. He is a good dancer though.
But of course Laurie was awesome!!

According to Twitter this is who ran up on Ryan Lotche

I'll never deny the fact that he's trash and messed up, but this is ridiculous and unnecessary...and scary.

Of all the things to be upset about in America...Ryan Lotche prob shouldn't be at the top of your list

It also seems like production should have known something might be up being that they allowed a whole row of Anti-Lotche protesters in

I'm sad I had to miss it live!
Eeek. were they wearing those shirts when they let them in? Scary. Seems they need to better vet their live audience members somehow.

Who even has time to go through all that to get in the audience just to be extra?

If you feel strongly enough about something the length you'll go is something ridiculous, but they certainly made their point.
TBH, I think this may be one of the best things to happen to him because not only is his name being splashed everywhere, he's also gaining sympathy from people who otherwise were indifferent or didn't like him. This also has the potential to keep him on the stage because people will vote for him just so something like this happens again...it's more entertainment value.

When they announced Lochte would be on DWTS I expected them to play up the controversy with "boos" from the audience even though they could mask them. My cynical side says the anti-Lochte were intentional plants but, "crazy" never ceases to amaze me.

I wasn't able to watch live, so aside from Lochte-gate 2.0, my thoughts:

Obviously Laurie lived up to expectations.

For some reason, I really liked Jake's dance and I wasn't expecting that since in all the promos and stuff he never smiled and looked so serious yet full of himself. Jenna moving to pro was a great idea and maybe that's why I liked his dance more than the judges, too.

I think once Amber Rose loosens up and comes out of her shell a bit she'll do really well.

Jana and Gleb make a hot couple.

Politicians shouldn't be allowed on the show; I feel bad for Emma because I enjoy watching her and she's obviously going first.

Everyone else was just "meh" to me. I wouldn't even be surprised if Lochte-gate was concocted by the producers to drum up ratings and views since DWTS has slowly been sinking to its death the last few seasons.

I expected Laurie to be great but for some reason I was very surprised at her routine. It looked so polished. I said out loud that they should just hand her the trophy now and my room mate responded "or just get rid of everyone right now... starting with Rick perry." I'm sad laurie didn't get as much air time as she could've because of the lochte debacle.

Derek's partner surprised me, she was good for an old person lol. I honestly expected her to not be that good so he could get out of the competition fast and spend more time on his other projects that are coming up.

Maureen McCormick... if I have to watch her cry every episode I want her gone now. She has a bit of work to do if she wants to stay in the competition though. I want the whole (remaining) Brady fam there in the audience every episode.

Amber Rose was surprisingly personable and surprisingly decent.

Tara was good but I don't know how much Sasha can do with her.

I'm glad we have the regular 4 judges now.

Laurie has the showmanship and talent, Rick was pretty bad, Ambers beautiful and good dancer.

Just caught up on last night. Obviously Laurie is winning... but I thought Terra did really well. At first watch, I wasn't impressed because I just love long leg lines and she'll never have that, but for a Quickstep she seriously did great.

Maks seriously looked like Drogo/Jason Momoa so go costuming/makeup department! Except on that same token Jenna's costume was... unfortunate. Very unfortunate placement of black, hair-looking fringe. And then the back of her was basically naked. I was distracted by that costume and didn't pay attention to the dance or Jake.

Everyone else was "meh." Laurie is too good that it just makes me forget it's only week two and it makes everyone else look bad.

Yessss, Maks looked like the real Drogo, I was so impressed by that. I wish Amber and Maks did a little better because I love GOT and the theme song.

Rick Perry and his bedazzled pitch fork are fun to laugh at but have to go. Maureen McCormick right after them (sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ).

I was very impressed with Terra, she kept up really really well and Sasha had some great choreography. He's doing a great job with her.

The race car driver (forgot his name) blows me out of the water, I see him as the only real threat for Laurie at this point. Laurie is still ahead of him in terms of tightness and technique but he could certainly catch up.

I really enjoyed Calvin Johnson's number and his enthusiasm in this comp. Its rare that a football player wants to be there and is decent.

Kenny/Babyface is also doing well but he seems like a born performer so that's not a surprise.

Vanilla Ice is entertaining but not that good. I want to see him do an actual dance dance, not a gimicky dance, and then I'll know what I think about him.

*I acknowledge there are others but I don't care about them/don't have an opinion*

Jake going first is understandable, but Rick NOT EVEN IN THE BOTTOM 4?!?! Not even that, he was announced as the second SAFE couple. WHAT? Why do I watch this stupid show?

She looked like that a month after giving birth. The woman isn't human. She's incredible.

Ehhh I don't think it meant he was in second place - they just announced he was safe, as in not going home, second. "Rick Perry is safe" creates more drama than "Rick Perry is in jeopardy" because all of America knows he's the worst :p Bruno's moaning during Jake's performances was everything I didn't know I needed, though.

I also do not see the need for a two hour results show for the first round of voting. Its excessive. I hate that they do this now.
