The scholarship and sportsmanship are very nice, how about some updates on the new rules?

Really...???? Its the USASF...... you know they are not going to update anyone until after everyone has had tryouts, while at the same time all the "high ups" and power house programs know whats coming!!

The scholarship and sportsmanship are very nice, how about some updates on the new rules?

The rules are following the process, that means the results of the votes and the impacts of any changes are being discussed by the Rules Committee. The new rules for the 2011-2013 seasons are targeted to be posted in March.

I will be more than happy to give you an update on the rules. The rules committee has had three conference calls on the rules and one scheduled for tomorrow morning. Each call is cut off at three hours and we still aren't done. There has also been a joint call lasting roughly three hours with members from the NACCC and the rules committee. To say the least, we take what we do very seriously and try to consider all results that our actions could create. A few topics that could not be worked out between the two groups are now going to be discussed by the Board of the USASF next Tuesday.
Our (the USASF Rules Committee) goal is to have the rules out by March 1st. However, with so many important topics, I don't think that goal will be reached - but we WILL try. If we don't make the March 1st goal, we will get them out as soon as possible after that. I hope this helps to limit the rumors and worries for some of you.
One more thing I would like to address is the conspiracy theory of the "higher ups and power house programs". I can understand that mindset but to be honest and straightforward with everyone, these are the people who choose to get involved. I can promise you that your voice can be just as loud and you will know everything that they know if you decide to do the same. We have no secrets. There is a process and we follow that process. Have we had hiccups in the past? Sure! However, the USASF is still a very young organization and we do our best not to repeat previous mistakes. I'm sure we will still make new ones but hopefully we will learn from those also.

I'm pretty sure there are openings available on the volunteer committees where you can spend time and money to help, if you feel it will give you an advantage.

Thanks for the update. In the past the sound of silence has been deafening. It is refreshing to hear that there is something happening. Thanks again.
