It would definitely limit the creativity. Just look at gymnastics.

Gymnastics has the same choreography and music for all levels up to 7 (or maybe it's 6- I can't remember, it's been a few years since I coached gymnastics), and that completely eliminates creativity. A universal scoresheet would allow teams to write a routine that challenges their team and hits the scoresheeet well. Plus it's hard to explain to parents when you win one week and score a 7.4 and get 4th the next week with a 350. It makes our sport look silly when theres one set of rules (USASF) but a million different interpretations on scoring.

I couldn't believe the placements for top 3 this year (except for Brandon; they totally deserved to win). I loved Smoed's routine, but I just don't understand how a team that drops 3 stunts can still get 2nd place, while Cats didn't even make top 3...
