Does anyone have restaurant suggestions for Washington DC? I'm trying to figure out where we will have our group dinner at the national HS journalism convention. We're staying in Georgetown but the convention is at the Marriott Wardman Park, so something relatively close would be great, not TOO expensive. Also, what are the best things to do? I lived just outside DC until I was 7, so I've done all the touristy stuff but what a 7 year old enjoys is vastly different than what a 17 year old enjoys, so my limited memory of DC isn't that reliable.

Where outside of DC did you live? I went to school/grew up in Arlington, and there's a lot of good stuff to try in Rosslyn which is across the water. You'd think I'd have a ton of Georgetown restaurants to list but I can't think of any rn (thnx headcold)..

Apparently we were supposed to do it in InDesign, but my professor failed to mention that...

Ahhh I see. I was wondering why you were trying to place body copy into illustrator :p

For future reference, if you go to the top of part of illustrator, near the X-out button, there's usually a space that says "essentials". If you click on that, one of the items in the drop down menu should be "typography" and that will give you some of the basic functions that Indesign has that can come in handy!

Not a 17 year old, but the last time I was in DC I loved going to the National Gallery of Art. Even though teens might not want to go to musuems the whole time? But if you're looking for a cool musuem, I like that one. Old Town Alexandria is also pretty cool. There's a lot of neat shops and some pretty good restaurants. Hope this helps!

I think my old High school is going to that this year. Hardin Valley Academy! Man I wish I wouldn't have graduated we could have met up!!

I've tried everything! Getting new bowls, putting it on a plate, putting a little chicken broth or juice from his food in it, and its always really cold. Ive never had this problem with any puppies I've had before!
My english bulldog refuses to drink out of her water bowl so we have one of those doggie drink things hooked up to the water spout outback & she just licks it & it gives her water, kinda like a hamster lol

If you want to venture in to Foggy Bottom (to see me haha), it isn't too far from Georgetown I have to recommend Founding Farmers. It is one of my all time favorite places to eat. They have a sister location in Georgetown called Farmers Fishers Bakers, although I've never been to that one. I mostly go to bars in Georgetown so I can't really help you out there haha. There are also tons of places to eat in Rosslyn, VA just over the Key Bridge.
As far as things to do, the museums and monuments are always fun. I also like the Tidal Basin paddle boats to get good views of the monuments from the water. Georgetown isn't super close to the National Mall and it can be hard to get there at times since there is no metro, but it's doable. The waterfront in Georgetown is really pretty to just go for a walk. Georgetown also has some pretty awesome cupcake places, Baked & Wired being my favorite but Sprinkles and Georgetown Cupcake are good too.

Really? I never thought of that. That's funny! I'll try whatever it takes!! He is so picky! About everything!

Our last dog liked to drink running water, so the idea that @Flexiii_Lexiii gave sounds like a good idea! Plus they are cheaper then the machines that keep circulating the water. You could try a hose also? It seems a little odd but maybe try getting a cup or something and drink out of it yourself, and then give it to the dog? Just throwing ideas out there, our dog will try anything if we are eating/drinking it.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get your puppy to drink out of the water bowl? The vet told me to keep him on soft food and make it more like a soup until he starts drinking, but he refuses to drink out of the water bowl. Its like he doesn't know what it is! I'm getting kind of frustrated because it worries me that he won't drink. Does anyone have any tips?
Is he eating ok? We have had puppies who don't want to eat or drink and have had to feel them water mixed with corn syrup using a syringe. If he is eating ok I would still give him a couple of syringes of water several times a day to make sure he doesn't get dehydrated.

We lived in Reston when I was really little and then Herndon
@luv2cheer92 thanks! I can pretty much guarantee we will be getting cupcakes :) last year we found a little cupcake shop in Boston and I swear people went back to it like 3 times!
@Ally13 thank you!

He eats fine and the vet told me how to check to see if he's getting dehydrated. He's a reaaaallllly small dog! His food is like 50% water 50% food! And I've tried the syrenge he just won't let me.

@cheernerd5678 I endorse what @luv2cheer92 said about Founding Farmers and Baked and Wired. Baked & Wired is lifechanging (my insta has pics of their cupcakes...actually of most cupcakes in the region: Instagram ) Shake Shack is good if you're looking for a decent burger. Clyde's is good in Georgetown, as is Mr. Smith's and Good Stuff Eatery.

Things to do--Definitely check out the Smithsonian museums (they're free, and American History is my favorite one) and if you're willing to pay for an awesome museum experience you MUST go to the Newseum. It is journalist heaven. (I geeked out there for like, four hours.) I'm also a big fan of being super touristy and looking at all of the monuments and war memorials--I know you said you've seen them before, but I've found that I have a different appreciation for things now that I'm older.

Also my office is right in Rosslyn if you want to have a Fierceboard mega-meetup.
