I saw that story and my eyes got so wide [emoji15] I can't even imagine my priest ever doing something like that haha

I once went to a parish where everyone clapped after the homily and I was ready to light things on fire by the end of it.

I sent the hoverboard story to a priest friend of mine and he about lost it.

My kids decided not to ask for one because they heard stories of them exploding - plugged in and not (the latest Tx one caught fire inside the box in a mall).

I read an article the other day about the fires and said the CPSC is investigating. The author gave theories (battery, charger, lack of safety standards), but nothing has been confirmed yet. They likened it to the laptop battery problems about 10-15 years ago. It also said there's no "safe" brand to buy since they've had reports of fires from all brands.

Amazon & Overstock stopped selling them, the U.K. has taken back most of them, and the US is banning or placing restrictions on them. Thankfully, the CPSC is investigating so hopefully they will soon have safety standards (none exist for them right now).

Amazon themselves may not be selling them but because I keep getting ads for them everywhere to buy one on Amazon and I have Amazon Prime, I just went to Amazon and I can still buy one and use Amazon Prime to have it shipped to me by Tuesday...

Yeah I don't understand the Amazon claim that I've been seeing all over the news because I can definitely still buy one in several different colors! My biggest concern for these things is gas stations---the reason you're not supposed to use a cell phone and pump gas is because the battery could randomly explode (the average one won't, but it's why we have that restriction)...however, these things would make a much bigger flame if it's exploded in the vicinity of the gas pumps.

I just heard of two kids (one of whom is on CP's team) who are out with wrist injuries :(

Oh no! I hope they're not out for long.

It's such a fine line between protecting our kids from missing their beloved sport due to injuries and letting them have fun. CP went ice skating today and the whole time I'm thinking "don't break anything - comp season is ramping up".

CP had a skating birthday party to go to right before the holidays and I said the same thug!

Cp was invited to go skating tonight and the same thing went through my mind.

Yep. CP went skating earlier in the week and u told her not to get hurt or her coach would kill her.
