Oh yeah, they definitely said that. I was sitting close to the front in the audience with a group of Minis and Tinys from CP's gym when that happened. I will be the first to admit that I don't make the best word choices at times (usually it involves me driving a vehicle in a high traffic situation). But, even in my younger years, I don't think I would have ever thought using vulgar language in front of hundreds of people (a good majority of them children) was a good idea. I was pretty disappointed that a group of (what I am assuming are mostly) adults decided to open their routine with that.

Ugh. As a parent, I'm so sorry.
:banghead:

If you think about it, many open teams are already made of college cheerleaders. A number of Navarro cheerleaders were/are on teams like SOT Reign/Remix, CA Wildcats... a couple of cheerleaders from UWG, UGA and KSU are on Electric this season. Also, I noticed Rays have reduced the number of coaches on their open teams, teams like Rust use to be made of mostly coaches, but Electric not so much.

Right. Isn't Navarro mostly Cheer Athletics Wildcats kids?

Do people feel weird about that?

Or is it the "this is the same routine" aspect that bothers people?

It just seems a bit off to me how it's the same routine. For me, it would be like competing the same routine for the 15-16 season and the 16-17 season.

aloha productions released a statement for Cali finale saying that use of vulgar language in warm ups or comp floor will result in removal of that athlete from the venue.

Where are you seeing that?

If they have the kids who want to do both and are committed to doing both then I don't see what the problem is. To pull from what I hear all the time in the sandbagging thread "they are still performing the same skills as everyone else." It's not like they get special privileges because they competed at college nationals.

If anything I think they have it harder. They aren't just an allstar team that practices together for the sole purpose of competing. They have games and public appearance schedules to juggle in addition to competitions. They also have to change the routine some a couple of weeks out of worlds since the scoresheets and rules are slightly different. I don't see anything wrong with it.

i can see why people would be peeved at the whole louisville thing, but its not against the rules and since they are level 6 teams i dont see the harm in it. If they are allowed to compete those skills that they do at college nationals why not continue it at worlds. Why spend the time to create two separate routines that basically have the same skills in them, seems pointless and a lot of extra work.

id also compare to dunbar HS, they compete almost the exact same routine for how many years now.... But it hits the score sheet, and they are there to win and clearly it has worked in their favor for quite some time.
