So it was 2 locationed gyms but named Premier before it was called Premier Athletics or was it already named Premier Athletics? Confused as I am really dumb.
Around the time frame of these videos (2008-2010) there were probably 10 Premier locations. Guessing at that number, but quite a few. Long back story time... (hopefully I get it all correct, some others on here may be able to add to it.)

In the late 90's / early 2000's there were 2 Premiers that I know of. The Knoxville location and the Nashville location (could have been more, but I think it was only 2.) There was another gym in the Nashville area called TCC - Tennessee Cheerleading Company. At some point around 2002-ish Premier acquired TCC and became Premier Tennessee. They took on TCC's colors of baby blue, black and white, which they still use today across all the Premier Athletics locations. For a little while only the Nashville area gyms (3 I think back then) went by Premier Tennessee, and the 2 Knoxville locations just Premier. Later I think all the TN locations went by Premier TN for a little while and then just Premier to better include the locations from other states. The consistent PA name and branding has been more recent. Locations used to have their own identities, with names, uniforms and colors. Kentucky Elite for example didn't wear the Premier name or colors, but was a Premier gym. There were others as well. Now they all are the same.

Im not sure if they've always been Premier Athletics. Part of me thinks it used to be Premier Allstars, but I could be wrong. I believe the Knoxville gym came first, but I could be wrong there too.

C5 winning worlds. When you watch the video of awards starting from 10th you see with every placement called the growing excitement/confusion on their faces. And you could see they were over the moon to know they made top 5. Then came top 3. Then top 2. And when they were called for world champs they were completely baffled, honored, emotional, etc... hits me in the feels every time.

Wanted to add the video: Hope it works

The moment in 2010 watching Senior Elite, watching the Milkhouse scream/sing their music (and sound effects) in unison and dang near implode when their elite section HIT is single handily one of my best moments in cheer history. I think everyone became a SE fan for a split second when Maddie hit that ball up! UGH so unreal!

We were never premier all stars, but we used to go by just Premier Sharks (Knoxville location) The athletics came at a later time.

ETA: I also don't think we were apart of the same company when we were premier Sharks (Knoxville) and premier Tennessee (Nashville) but I was only on youth teams then so I'm not positive. I think Nashville only became apart of the "Premier" after it was ACE.

Agree. Very confusing, but most gym merger and acquisitions are! Back in the day it wasn't the in thing to have multi locations, so I think it was a little on purpose that it was confusing. Premier is owned by varsity, so not knowing which gyms were Premier gyms was, imo, probably part of the plan.

I'm not positive either. The Nashville ones never stopped being "premier." Even while they were ACE, the gyms stayed premier. That's major confusion, so I didn't even bring it up earlier. I think they were both always owned by varsity, but didn't necessarily associate with each other until more recent years. I have pretty old clothing that has the same Premier logo as the Knoxville location though. Like you I was young, so I'm sure there are details I don't know and are leaving out.

Back to the topic...

My first worlds on the board back in 2011 was a major highlight for me! Hard to believe I've been on here this long.

The sport has changed so much from the time I started to now.

For reference, I started cheering all stars pre-Worlds (very late 90s and early 2000s) when at times, all star was just a separate division at school comps.

I wonder where it will be in the next 20 years!

I cheered at a time where all-star was just getting big, most everything was done through youtube, youtube comments were savage, if you were on the cover of American cheerleader magazine you were IT.
My years were 2004-2008 at a Small gym in Maine *Elite All Stars of Maine* Our rivals were maine stars and maine event

There was a girl from USA Wildcats that was on the cover and I remember just being in awe of her every time I saw her compete because I saw her in a magazine
Nowadays that's the "norm"

It is crazy how the sport has evolved for the good and bad - I cant wait to see what happens in the future!

Watching this video really brought home for me just how MUCH difficultly has increased in the last 10 years. NO WAY would this be a winning routine now. It's a beautiful, clean, well executed routine, but with the direction the scoring system has gone, I don't know that they would have even gotten a worlds bid.

Unless they went to the 3 or 4 (or more coming up) comps this season that have had more bids than teams lol. I honestly don't even think this routine as performed would even get last place, or probably not even bottom 3, at worlds this year.

UGH I loved Premier Sharks. Great Whites had one of my favorite routines in 2007.
