Tall flyers

I love tall flyers. They just make the stunt look better. Especially at lower levels(1, or 2) when a stunt is at prep level or below the tall flyers make it look like its up higher, and the lines the create, if their flexible enough, are gorgeous. However smaller flyers are easier to throw around in baskets and such.

Coming from a guy that coed stunts everyday, taller flyers are sometimes harder to toss, but if the flyer can hold their weight and get the job done, its all the same for me!

i don't think it's a matter of height; it's size in general. bigger girls usually have better body control because they've learned to control their muscles and usually have more muscle then all skin and bones girls! i'm 5'5 and yesss pretty tall for a top but it's not like i'm big. bases can't just always hope for a little girl anymore! my best friend is 5 foot and tops and we weigh within 3 pounds of each other... sooo it's really not a height issue. we both have beautiful flexibility sooo bases and backs need to man up plus it looks a lot more impressive when your tops aren't half your size!

Yes we have tall flyers. I AGREE that they look prettier in the air. i think when someone uses a short flyer that looks like shes ten i think "comeo n, really?" but there are some flyer who are tall and very very VERY heavy, but they think there light and when they come down adn don't catch there bases there like a bag of bricks

Tall flyers look sooo pretty in the air when they're flexible.
And I hate it when a tall girl can fly with actually good technique but some little girl with no body control is put up instead just cause she's smaller. I think flyers should be determined by their skill. Not their size. Unless of course they're TOO big to put up.

I really appreciate this because my cp is only 12 but shes 5 ft 3. They have taken her out of most flying spots and put her as a back because some of the shorter girls can't do both. It seems unfair when you see those girls struggling with basic stunts when you have seen your cp do some fairly advanced things.

but though she was disappointed, she has a great attitude and is proud that her group is doing well and she is 1/4 of the equation.

I'm sorry for you cp. Hopefully she'll be flying again soon! That's great of her to take that attitude though and do what's best for the team. Especially at her age.

I know what you mean! I'm almost 5'6" and I fly on a team of girls who are all 5'2" and under. There is one other taller flyer but she is about 5'4". And I feel so sorry for your cp.
Just make sure she keeps stretching because when the other girls just simply aren't working out, when they put her back in the air she totally blows everyone away!
It's good to hear that she is taking this with such grace and being a good sport about it. I wish you nothing but the best of luck and hope everything works out for you!

I agree! I think you can "feel" the stunt more when your flyer is a bit bigger, you know? Cause the weight pushing on your hands is bigger and you can actually feel where your flyer is going if somethings going wrong.

Though I will say I do like to toss smaller girls...that's just fun

i agree w/ the whole heavier taller flyer/compared to a smaller one i feel like i can control the stunt more with a taller flyer/heavie flyer!

idkk how tall the Charlotte Teal girls are but on videos they look like they have legs for days i love seeing tem fly...

i think fam coed had a tall (center) flyer few yrs back.. Pretty!

Personally I love tall flyers, but it doesn't mean anything if they aren't flexible. If a tall flyer has amazing flexibility they of course they will look amazing in the air because their lines will look longer. Oh and i still have tons of love for short flyers! any flyer looks amazing if they are super flexi, short or tall.
