Would we have a problem if it was "Cali-fudgin-fornia?".. another substitute for that special word. What if a team opened with "What the fudge? The [insert mascot here] are back!".

If the word is used in Christmas Story and played repeatedly in every home in America, then it should be ok for us.

I personally don't have any problems with the word freakin, friggin, freaking, fricken..... But I do understand the angle of any complaints/decision making to take it out. Any word that is commonly and widely used as a replacement word to a not-so-pretty word can definitely be the target for discussion.

So if I say "Shut the flip up" that sounds better than "shut the freak up"? Regardless of what you insert there, doesn't the person hearing it/reading it automatically insert the word they ASSUME it's meant to replace? Just wondering what the argument is of one word over another. If I say bullcrud, doesn't your mind automatically insert the intended word there? Does that make sense? IDK, I just don't see the issue I guess. There are SO many slang words for curse words these days. People can take a very innocent word and make it vulgar if they want to.

Talladega Nights is about NASCAR (loosely) and the name comes from the Talladega, Alabama race track.
