I have not seen allstars at either of the competitions i went to this year covered up. At Lightning Bolt, I really only saw WIDC but they have full tops. The crowd flipped out when a stunt group from GBE lime came out to show off and Fluff i believe was in her warmups sportbra and not a shirt
but at my comp yesterday the only allstar team had halftops and itty bitty skirts, and yeah they paraded around in their uni all day :banghead:

Full Uniform at awards- there are pics and such so everyone should look the same. I hate when kids show up in sweat pants or t shirts- you compete in your uni - you are in full uniform at awards BUT t shirt over uni when walking around.

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be in uniform for awards, at least where I've been this year, so no cover up
I don't think you're "supposed" to be in anything at awards. Do whatever your gym owner tells you to do it - some teams do warmups, some do a t-shirt over their uni, some do just uniforms. Just don't look a hot mess.

I was in Indianapolis and I don't know of any example where this was enforced. I was under the impression this was a rule, but if it is, it's a poorly monitored one.

our entire gym has a matching cover up shirt, i think i mentioned before that team moms collect them before warm ups and hand them back out when they come off stage. they also went the extra step and had the girls names placed on the back of the shirt to make it easier for team moms to hand out. it looks super cute when they are all walking together. and as i realized this weekend, helps me find my kid from the back when they are all together and look the same with curled hair and big bows.

I think people were generally pretty good about it in Providence - which is good because it's attached to a mall. Not everyone followed it, but it's also hard to know who was or wasn't going to/from warmups. If you don't have a team mom or someone to hold all your stuff, you had to go all the way back up to your team's room to get your shirt/warmup.

What do you hate about it?
i suppose hate is a strong word. The guideline annoys and frustrates me, mostly for selfish reasons.
1) I pd a lot of $$ for that uni and think its very attractive and tasteful. It bugs me that it has to be covered by a $20 poly jacket (in our case - i know some gyms have use t-shirts).
2) It's such a backwards way of thinking to me. By saying "cover up" that says to me "you're dressed inappropriately". If it's good enough for the mat - it should be good enough to be worn around the venue. If it's not ok to walk around in - then it's JUST NOT OK. That's where I'm coming from. I have no problem with youth and jr going to covered tummies - heck i don't really have a problem with all divisions doing it. BUT if the rule isn't in effect yet and it doesn't apply to senior division anyway - why do I have to cover up a $400 uni?

^^^^ This though

I just hate how sloppy some teams look when covered up when gyms don't have specific gym wear. You end up with all these girls having mis matched track pants messy hair from the tshirts being pulled over it just looks bad.
Our gym has team warm ups and strict rules about what they can wear with their uniform (no uggs, slippers, PJ bottoms, etc) at any point while wearing their uniform. I did go back to the original email sent at the beginning of the season and it does say for awards they should look like how they competed which I assume means uniform (no warm up). But I have noticed a trend that they seem to all wear their warm up jackets to awards as well. I guess this is because they are probably walking around before awards. But I agree that post-award pictures would be nice in their uniforms. This past weekend they had their warm ups on for pictures - probably no one thought about it. I will say I think they always look neat and professional.
