1. There is a reason they had a meet and greet...so people wouldn't follow them to their room and harass them. As for locking the door, last year it was incredibly distracting when athletes would open the Spirit door and ask to trade shirts.
2. They are kids...all under 18. We can't expect them to act like adults 100% of the time. Yes it could have been handled better, but they were upset and over it at that point.

I was just wondering the same thing. I would be barefoot after max. 2 hours

10 min here...but I do need foot surgery and can't really wear any type of shoes except those hideous special shoes (many of which nurses use, etc.) I mean they're comfortable, but totally unflattering.
Prior to that though, yeah it'd be like 2 hrs. max for me before I had to take them off and run around in socks (I just can't do the barefoot thing- I've always had this OCD thing about it-dirty floors, etc.)
