IMO if the Y5 division all goes to the Summit on freely given, passed out Wild Card Bids then they should only compete in the Wild Card Division on Friday and whoever has the highest score at the end of the day on Friday is the winner of that "Exhibition" division. That should be all there is to it since those teams didn't win their bids to the Summit like all the other teams would have. If they are accepting the unearned Wild Card Bids then they should be accepting that they will only compete on Friday in their own Wild Card "Exhibition" division. If they do go to the Summit with those Wild Card Bids then they should not be awarded the same accolades as all the other teams competing at the Summit that did in fact earn their right to be there as defined by the guidelines. I realize that Varsity has changed the guidelines for the Y5 division for this year in the middle of the season and so technically that division will be there in accordance with the guidelines but that still doesn't make it right.
So I'll add this to the list of things that are "legal" according to the guidelines but are just plain wrong.
