I'm so very very sad for the kids that have been there for 10+ years.
Why do the egos of (some) adults involved, outweigh, these kids?
When Allstar cheerleading DEFINES you, as an adult, as a parent.....you are the problem. Let these kids do what they love.
Someone please help me be the cool Mom. My daughter is gonna walk through the door soon and ask me about Lady Lightning. Any updates are appreciated and shimmy worthy!
I'm relieved that I'm not alone!
Ok...I grew up during the 80's. Back in the day, I could do a mile high mullet. Why is the "poof" my hair nemeses? Aqua net and a blow dryer = problem solved! #anothercheermomfail
I have put my daughter's friends in cheer bows to cover entrance fees. I'm...
I guess I will finally chime in. My daughter spent the year at Famous. Honestly, even with all the drama, chaos and uncertainty, I would make the same decision all over again. My child had the season of her life. She and I made some really great friends! If not for Famous, I would never...
That drives me crazy!!! This is probably my biggest pet peeve in the world of Allstar cheer! Why sign up? Why spend all that money? Almost every person knows what they are signing up for. It's no surprise. My cp hates missing practice for any reason. (I think she has only missed 3 or 4 in...
Here's my 2 cents, for what it's worth. I thought it was a great piece focusing on the hard work, dedication and athleticism of Allstar cheer. I think it showed what this sport (yes, I said sport) is about. They didn't focus on the uniforms or make up.
As far as Maddie being the focus of the...
I'm not sure this is ironic or not but... Point a camera at a group of cheerleaders and within a split second they are either:
#1 All flashing huge smiles, standing in "cheer pose" (Standing tall, turned slightly away from camera with hand on hip) or
#2 All have distorted their faces and bodies...
I think it is RIDICULOUS that a gym would impose such a rule with such extreme consequences. Sometimes people forget that we, as parents/athletes are paying customers. Could you imagine McDonalds saying that you may ONLY buy fast food at their restaurants because they are unsure of the safety...
After reading this thread, this song comes to mind:
Oompa Loompa doompadee doo
I've got another puzzle for you
Oompa Loompa doompadah dee
If you are wise you'll listen to me
Our new gym says "no fast food." They want the kids making healthier food choices. I'm thrilled! It seems like I'm always fighting an uphill battle with my kids food choices. :banghead: It's nice to finally have someone backing me up! It really shouldn't be WWIII to have an apple for a snack...
My cp pushes herself hard enough. I may get her ice cream or something small as a reward for getting a new skill, but in general, I don't bribe her. Honestly, if she learns a new skill, it should be because she wants that skill, not because she wants a new Coach purse.
I have been in EXACTLY your position! Buy a stunt stepper! It's sooooo worth the money! Or if your gym has one, ask to borrow it. Have her practice on it in front of a mirror while watching her favorite show on tv. She will gain confidence and balance.
PS...We tried the soup can idea. Sounded...
