I am currently working on roundoff back handsprings and standing back handsprings. My coaches keep telling me that I'm jumping too high and not back enough. Any tips or drills to help me get my back handspring quicker?
I've looked for a thread about this but didn't see anything, so sorry if this topic has already been discussed somewhere else!
So according to the rules, front handsprings are legal in level 2 running tumbling. Why do you never see them? I understand it takes more out of an athlete and is hard...
Hi! So I promised my coach that next year during tryouts I'll have my front and back handspring. When I execute my front handspring my legs drive forward too fast and I fall flat on the ground. No matter how hard I push off I can't land on my feet (i was trying it on my trampoline and it's very...
Okokok so im a hs cheerleader and im working on front walkover/front handspring but I always roll onto my knees rather than landing on my feet. How do I fix it?

It's my first year of allstar cheer and I've done high school cheer for a couple years before this. In high school cheer we never really had someone coaching us helping us improve our skills, so I've had a back handspring for a year or so, but it's not clean, and doesn't give me a rebound. I'm...
I did my bh by my self on the floor for the first time yesterday but I have practice today and I feel like I cant do it by myself any more! Is this normal and if so how do I over come that thought. Im not scared to do it I just feel like Im not gonna be as good as yesterday...
Im scared too do my back handspring on the floor by myself. I can do it on the end of the tumble trak by myself, I can do it with a hard mat off the end of the tumble track by myself, I can do it on a "scushie mat" with a hard mat on it by my self and I can almost do it on a cheese mat by...
Would a back handspring that is "caught" in a prone position be legal in level 2? I was looking at videos of Large Junior 2 on the Wiki from last year and saw Woodlands Elite do this toward the beginning of their routine -
I like it but didn't think it would be legal because I'm pretty sure...
So, I have 2 questions:
1. How can I not skip in a front handspring stepout? (If I skip in a front handspring roundoff 3 , I can do it perfect, but if I don't, I can barely do 2 (backhandsprings))
2. I absolutely SUCK at backhandspring stepouts! Running and standing! Help?!?' I need it by June.
I have a consistency problem when I throw handsprings.. Like I'll do two or three good ones in a row, and then they get really bad.. By bad I mean I forget to block through my shoulders and throw my hips up, or one of the two. I have tried doing them over and over again, but I just end up...
I need to have my standing BHS to make varsity for high school cheer, I have a little over three weeks. I have it, my landing just isnt very good. :( My elbows bend, and my head touches the floor. But I land on my feet and end up not being able to pull my chest up fast. My instructor suggest...
So I have my standing handspring and my roundoff 3 -- it didnt dawn on me that I hadn't tried standing two until one of my coaches asked to see it. So I tried it and failed. Any tips? Also my coach has us start roundoff tucks after we master our roundoff 3 and after we have our roundoff tuck, we...
so i have had my back handspring since September last year and i knew that it was ugly with bad technique. so for tryouts i had a private with my coach and she made me do drills in the gym that really made them better but next training session they just went straight back to being really bad :(...
Would a front handspring landing in the same position as a front sumi to bum would be legal in level 2? Idont see why not given that hand floor contact is maintained through inversion and handsprings are allowed from standing but just want to check :)
