Hello. Someone just told me that when High School Cheer becomes an official sport in 2 years, cheerleaders will no longer be allowed to do both Allstar and High School cheer. Does anyone know if it is true that they will have to choose due to the rules?
Hi all, happy to be a part of the forums! I was looking for suggestions on beating favoritism and cheer politics in a small school when it comes to tryouts and who was chosen for the squad.
Long story short, we are new to a small town and my 6th grader has years of cheer experience, she isn't...
At tryouts do you get extra points for cheer or cheer prep, and tumbling?? Also is there a good way to really practice your balance at home? I'd like to try to be a flyer id of course be happy with anything I just find it would be excited! And I really want to try it! Anything I could do at home...
Hi!
I'm a boy who's trying out for cheer next year and I'm wondering what to expect during tryouts, games, competitions, and what tumbling skills I need.
Thanks so much!
Hi All!!
I am coaching my old high school and want to get them back into competing. Im a coach at Hotcheer Allstars, so coaching high school is so different for me! We used to compete YEARS ago when the gym owners of Hotcheer coached my high school. Ever since they retired to run HC, the...
When I was in high school and middle school, it seemed as if school cheerleading wasn't taken very seriously at all. There weren't many members on the teams we had in my town . Other towns, it may be different. Especially for bigger town/cites. The reason why I'm so happy, is because school...
I have 3 kids. Two of my CP's do cheer. We drive an hour and a half one way for their cheer gym. Love our gym. My oldest CP will be in 9th grade next year (first year of High School). She recently told me she also wants to do High School Cheer next year. How realistic is it to try and juggle...
I am a freshman this year in high school and I have been cheering for about 3 years. So, I am going to tryout for the JV cheer team on September 8th and 9th (those are the days of tryouts). Even though those date are coming soon I'm already getting nervous. Have any advice how on to get rid of them?
Sorry I just got the account or I would post this in high school cheerleading or college cheerleading. Our high school cheerleading program is not very competitive with even the other high schools in the area. I do participate in all-star cheerleading and have many national titles. I have...
I really want more experience with coaching before I start my team . Working with a school , I believe is the best way to go .
I don't mind if the school is or isn't a competitive squad . I would prefer for them to be a competitive squad so they have something to work for , but I know that I...

Making the Transition from Allstars and High School Cheer to College
By Lisa D. Welsh www.CHEERMAD.com “Why do you spend so much time (and money) on your daughters’ cheerleading? It’s not like they are going to be professional cheerleaders!” I can’t tell you how many...
Hello everyone!
This is my first year coaching high school and I wanted to get some opinions on a new uniform I am looking at getting for the girls next season.
I am originally from Texas where I have tendencies to "Go Big, or Go Bigger!", but I am coaching a squad in Illinois.
My concerns are...
I'm just curious as to what everyone's favorite high school programs are! I cheer for a building program:D and am curious what the future looks like down the road! I also may or may not have a bad habit of watching cheer videos into the wee hours of the night and am out of videos but that's a...
I have been in all star cheer for 9 years now and I can't see my self giving it up anytime soon but I recently move into a state that I can do both school and All Star cheer at the same time so I am pm think of trying out for my high school team this spring but I am worried that it will be hard...

I was talking to my dad during NCA comp. about how All-Star cheer doesn't have any true regulations are standards. I don't think it's considered a sport is it? But he went on to say he believes cheer is a sport for a college/school. He is a retired teacher so he may or may not know what he is...
Brooke High competed at OVACs this past weekend, and lost. This year we blew everyone out of the water at regionals and won the WV State championship, beating the team that beat us at OVACs both times. A lot of people are outraged at our loss, and outraged with the way this competition is...
