bigger venue that is all, why would you want to charge more so less people go? thats insane as if your parents dont pay enough to your gym they still have to pay the 25 to enter comps. well except for Jamfest events (bless there heart) :)
so yeah bigger venue dont reduce bids dont charge more -_____-

Hi I'm just going to say one thing allstar cheerleading is a BUSINESS. Gym owners they are a business, event producer they are a business, and USASF non profit organization. They are just trying to raise funds to cover cost to take care of OUR sport that we love. Are sport would not be closer to being a legitmized sport if not for their efforts. So you should be thanking USASF for holding this event. You should be thanking USASF for what they have done for you as athletes, parents, and coaches. You should not be ripping them to shreds for hosting a legendary event that allows us to take all of the 5 and 6 teams and truly rank them in their order.
I am all for bettering the sport, and that is why I am saying what I am saying. No one is perfect, USASF is not perfect. I have thanked many of their board members for all they do. The event for the most part ran on time (accept when the Stage wasn't built big enough in the Jostens Center on Saturday). The event for the most part was JUDGED well (which I feel has been one the largest complaints in years past. NOW the USASF has done a good job at making many improvements which has increased interest in attendance which has created a new problem and I want to point it out and offer solutions. USASF completely eliminated Jr. divisions at Worlds bc there were many issues surrounding it including space. Now the arena space is unsuitable for the number of spectators AND participants. I was in both venues Saturday AND Sunday and they were BOTH overcrowded often throughout the day. If the USASF doesn't want to hear complaints then fix it!! And you know what else, again, asking people on behalf of "sportsmanship" to go watch Worlds on a TV, to me, is a slap in the face.
So now to POSSIBLE solutions bc I know that Worlds will always be held in Orlando (I agree that I'd like to see it relocate but I also know that that will just not happen)
#1- LIMIT BIDS
#2- Orlando has SEVERAL other venues that are very close to Disney i.e. the Conv Center that is HUGE and holds several other cheer events throughout the season. Maybe not for finals but hey maybe for the Int. divisions!? (Idk how I feel about this but it is a very good venue that is close to Disney and I think it should be utilized, how I just don't know)
#3-Sell LESS tickets
#4-With Divisions changing next year PREPARE NOW!!!!!!
#5-I'm sure I will have more as the day progresses

I just feel if it is about the money, they should have left the 6 or 7 jr teams competing and get rid of the at-large. Maybe, that would balance it out. Alittle.

we wouldnt need a new arena if they would just LIMIT the number of BIDS given out.
Sorry people but dont take this personal, I dont like going to worlds and having to sit and watch teams perform and only have like one double and basically looking like a sm sr level 4 team.
Just limit the number of at large bids given..

The problem with that (as has been stated numerous times in his thread) is that those at large bids provide a lot of extra revenue. This is a business. The more teams at worlds, the more money USASF and Disney make. If there aren't at larges, wheres that money going to come from? The USASF and Disney don't actually care if you want to watch those teams. They want those teams there because of the THOUSANDS of dollars they bring. If you don't want to watch them then go to the Parks and only watch on day 2.

Honestly I don't think people understand this.
Put a score minimum in, give out bids to teams ONLY reaching that score - problem solved.
These are companies that need to make money and they will NOT voluntarily do so. If companies stop giving out at-large bids, that's whats going to happen. It's like they'd be throwing their own revenues away. You don't run a business like that.

if there was a minimum score i guarantee no UK team will be making it to worlds!
a handful of teams in the country have half a team tumbling at level 5. There is one level 5 team who has great tumbling, but ok stunts and poor routines. We would never get to compete worlds (even though we might not be "worlds material"!!)

does anyone have an estimate of the number of spectators there? including cheerleaders... so when the milkhouse was at it's full capacity any clue how many were in there?

There were a few teams there this weekend that barely through level 5 skills. Really level 4 teams with a couple of single fulls and no double fulls. Really? Why? Nobody wants to come in 72nd place and nobody wants to watch them either. Harsh, but honest. It is about money, but if people are upset, they will stop spending the money and go anyway. So why not set a standard worthy of WORLDS and limit the teams that make it?

I honestly think that they should limit the number of bids that they hand out.. I feel like worlds use to be more prestigious and I feel like anymore they are handing out soooo many bids.. $$$ is what Im thinking is behind handing out all the bids?

You also have to remember, you cant arrive right before top 10 Small Senior or Right before the large Senior division and expect a front row seat. But trust me, I was waiting like a hawk, for an open seat down below where I actually sat.
