Admittedly, I don't know what she has or has not been advocating for with scoring, nor do I know what the latest post in question is about, seeing as I do not have access to ASGA (anyone want to send me screen shots, please do, and maybe I'll change my opinion).

Is this the first time she is advocating (fighting?) for whatever the issue is? Because that is more so where my issue is, if that is the case (and since a minority of people know what she advocates for there, I'm guessing it could lead to more bitter opinions). She's only upset because it affected her flagship team (again, from where I'm looking in).

Frankly, yesterday when I found out about the deduction, I wondered how long it would be until some jabs were taken somewhere, or UCA was also off the schedule. But I didn't want to say anything because I only know what I've seen here.

Again, just food for thought as to why this can make some people have a distaste (especially coupled with the "outing" she did earlier this season--I still think that crossed a line).

The very formation of ASGA was rooted in the same thing. Scoring discrepancies. Many coaches (self included) have been asking for changes and stability for many years. Many of us are ignored because our programs don't pull enough weight in the industry to notice if we attend events or not. But when she stepped up and offered that initial challenge at the formation of ASGA, many of us were hoping that we would finally see some changes. Many small gyms put aside their large gym dislike for this was a unifying subject. It hurt all of us. Because of her personality (like her or not) many people would follow her. All of a sudden we saw many larger programs that were always telling us that we (small gyms) were mad about not winning and mad about losing athletes to them, to get on board with ASGA. It was one moment I truly felt that regardless to gym size, location, economics, coaching staffs, etc we all were in agreement and ready to move forward.

That was then.

Here we are a few short years later back in the same scenario. I won't debate why I think so in this thread but suffice it to say that that initial inertia from the formation of ASGA was effectively blocked. Money talks.

The reality of the situation is too much money is being spent by parents and gyms to have to constantly hit a moving target that changes week to week, depending on who is judging, where the event is, who the EP is and if bids are on the line or not. One week a legality is not called and the next week it is - sometimes with the same judges. Insane routine comments that have no connection to the actual routine that was performed. Teams with major busts and falls not winning because of a higher raw score but because of math errors that no one will take responsibility over and correct. Some EP's have even said that the bids they give out is based in who the feel will represent them best at the bid event, therefore taking how you actually did at an event almost completely out of the scenario. But that is not what they post in their bid declaration for the event. Frankly it is no longer just a sporting decision but many times a business one who wins or receives bids. That is not fair at all because it is not sold to us that way it is sold as everyone has a fair chance and shot. When many times that is simply not the case. When it happens to a program that is small and off the radar, no one notices, or just chalks it up to being mad they did not win. When someone like CSP speaks up about it, the industry listens. Because so many people follow her, love her and even admire her if they don't agree with her, if she truly walked it would be a major blow to the industry.

My contention is that it has been this way for many years. The only thing now is that with the advance of social media we see more and more evidence every week that something just ain't right. Things that were once considered foolish thoughts and conspiracy theories now have been proven to have true factual basis. No matter how much we try to justify it, we have some issues that need to be fixed. IMO all she did once again is point that out. Maybe this time people will truly listen and act.

Don't think so. Yesterday was pretty spot on, too. I could understand problems with the scoring discrepancies from comp to comp from a coach's perspective, but there hasn't really been any comps this year that I can think of (at least major ones) where the placements have been off.
I love you, but your bias is showing :p.
