This story got a lot of attention (and rightly so) in the past week. Here’s some of what Yahoo News wrote:
The gym first released the following statement, and this email was later sent to gym members explaining more and that the coach is no longer part of the program.

What are USASF's makeup and hair guidelines?
They talk about bows, makeup colors, and more.

I wore one when I danced years ago and it was pretty common to see them at comps. But then they sort of fell out of fashion. Now they’ve had a bit of a resurgence in AS cheer. How common are they?
I’m not a fan, but I understand the positives. If I had my way I’d ask my girls to keep their hair...

Looks like we are going with high teased ponys, at least at the start of the season. CP hair will tease and look good prior to going to warm-ups. By the time they get off the mat competing, it's pretty much flat. Any tips on keeping it up? I thought about getting a bun doughnut and cutting it in...
We don't like the look or price of the ponytail extensions, but I am not good at ALL at teasing a high ponytail. My daughter is very tender-headed, so it make it more difficult. I hate to damage her hair as well. Are there any tricks to releasing a good tease or creating a "fake" tease? I need...
I can't find the thread but last year there was a discussion about boiling the hair wigs to revive them after a season of teasing, spray and competition. I did it for summit and the pony looked amazing. Now I don't remember the steps to make it fabulous again.
I think I washed it with...
More realistic Pony tails. Tease high or leave it natural.
Real hair cheer competition ponytail. 16-18" length. Secures over your bun without sewing. Made to order. Hand made in USA from real hair. Saves your hair from teasing damage. Saves time in getting ready and removal is fast and easy...
Do you do side french braid into a pony?
Do you have "poof" and pony?
Is it high and ratted pony? Or does your gym have min2" height?
Just curious what are your required hair styles?
Need to have my hair like this for comps (in a tight slick ponytail, no poof, can have curls if preferred).:
Not really sure how to do it with box braids like this (mine are thinner tho):
Any cheerleaders with braids who can help me out?
Am going to use curlformers to curl my CP hair for a competition this month...
...to get volume in the ponytail I have to backcomb, do I curl before or after back combing?
I am starting a new thread instead of adding on to a very old one. Any great tips / advice for untangling severely teased, matted, and tangled hair! Thanks
It is my first year as coach of a high school team and they have their first competition in about 2 months. What are they best looking hair and make up styles for high schoolers?
Last year CP's team only required a ponytail (which I can actually do)
This year they requested:
The hair is to be in a braid across the front top going from right to left (if looking at the front of the cheerleader) with a high ponytail.
CP doesn't have long hair this year and it only goes to...
For those of you that have athletes or is an athlete that wears the ponytail extension. Do you like them? Do they really save time? What brand is the best?
I was looking on Posh website and noticed they have a light brown with platinum highlights, a strawberry Blonde with highlights but do...
Recently, I dyed my hair for the second time as a dark shade of red. I kind of regret dying it that colour and I also want to dye it back to my natural hair colour which is black / dark, dark brown. I would probably get yelled at by my parents, mostly by my mother for wasting money and time. But...
Firstly, I'm new to this forum so Hi :) I've been cheering for 2 years and I live in the UK.
Last year, I lost all of my hair. It's growing back now but is only about 2 inches long all over. When it first fell out I wore a wig for competitions which stayed on with tape. Now I have hair...
