I have competition Sunday, and I'm wondering if anyone could help with a new way to attach. I went to a local black beauty supply store and bought hair, and have been doing it by putting up the ponytail, then wrapping the weave around and clipping as I go. It worked great! It looked and stayed really well. The only problem was that my head KILLED me from having 50+ Bobbypins shoved into my head all day. Is there any way that is easier or less painful?

Try not to wrap so tightly at the beginning because its going to tighten as you continue to wrap and pin. However, you will need to pin your life away to insure there are no mishaps. Try to only pin when you complete a full rotation around your base ponytail . *I also wouldn't suggest trying new techniques comp day lol.

Make sure you're pinning with hair pins and not Bobby pins

So, figured I would report back here on my attempts to save save some money and DIY, It was an EPIC fail and I ended up just ordering from pinups. I went to EVERY black hair store in town and NONE of them had human hair to match my CP. NONE! I thought ok, so buy some and dye it. Again, no dice lightening a dark piece ended up way too red and darkening a light one wasn't right either. I decided to use them for practice, and lets just say my sewing skills do not extend to hairpieces. I could never get it to look right. So $60 or so later in unusable hair I contacted the lady at pinups. I sent her some pictures and she was SUPER helpful in finding the right hair for CP. I had to go to Sally's and spend a bit more, but they had a color match. Mailing it in today to get our pony made.

Jasmine will take good care of you. She's the best!! Show us a pic when you get it?

Here is her pony. She was a difficult color match and this is very close but not exact. I am hoping with a little more hairspray on her natural hair it will blend even better. Do you guys think the difference is too noticeable? T
