I'll bite here. I understand the rules, agree to disagree with some of them, but I don't have a level 5 nor worlds caliber athlete to really worry about this issue. However, there seems to be an underlying issue or stance the USASF is taking direct aim at with the new rules and reading through this thread I sense the same, so please if no one wants to share on here, feel free to pm me and explain a little more. Thanks!

I am sure the rules for wirlds will be the same for the Summit being held the week after Worlds that will come into play all ages and levels

ASCheerMan do you know why they chose to make the park hopper pass only include two day admission for what is clearly a three day comp? I think if they would make it three day, a lot of people would be less angry...and it just makes more sense to make a 3 day hopper pass for a 3 day competition include 3 day entry to said competition.

The Sixth - but that would involve directly calling a program out and placing them on public blast. Something that they have been very reluctant to do. If it is/was a higher profile team could you imagine? the commentary? That is why a blanket policy, while harder to enforce actually is better because then they can say that the offenders were warned.

Personally I think some of it is overkill, (High 5?) but I can deal with the policy on celebrations. Looking at where they are trying to go, I get it.

Either people need to embrace it (what Varsity/USASF) is doing or another option needs to be made available. Time is coming where we are all going to have to choose.

If these rules were in place the past several years the outcome of the winners would be different. From coaches running onto the matt afterwards to music being over 2:30. We have had many threads about it over the years. So I think the time has come that there be an umbrella policy, as you stated, so every team, every judge, every fan knows what is going on. What they can get away with and what can be challenged. Everyone has begged for transparency in the sport, here it begins.

Can you imagine Gabbi Douglas at the Olympics nailing her FX and falling to the ground and going crazy and her coaches running up on that floor and falling all over her .... Ya, the world would just REALLY want to see that.... This is why it needs to stay professional or we'll never get out of our little bubble and expand for all the world to see and appreciate us as a legit sport.

Exactly! Did the women's gymnastic team celebrate after their winning performances?? Yes. Did they do it in a completely classy sportsmanlike manner??? Yes. Do you think winning the Olympics was any less exciting than hitting a routine at worlds???? Definitely not!!! Cheerleaders can learn to celebrate without collapsing and rolling around on the floor for 15 minutes. I don't see anything wrong with upping the standard of etiquette we hold competitive cheerleading to. Also I completely understand not wanting coaches running onto the mat after performances.

What I DON'T see a problem with is a couple hi-fives as before the start of the routine.

That was one of the very recommendations that were discussed on this board after last year. You will get a 3 day pass to ESPN with the package. Than for finals there will be 3 separate sessions. You will need a ticket for each. The milk house will be emptied before the next session begins. This was at the request of lots of people from this board... They listened to what everyone was asking for.

I remember the discussion about ticketing and buying them "at the door" but I didn't remember changing the park hopper pass idea. my mistake!

wait, so are you saying that it would even include those buying the normal, on site, allstar packages as well?

For the record- chest bumps and high-fives were specifically named. As was hugging coaches. Which I've seen several gymnasts do as well..

I've seen gymnasts throw temper tantrums when they come off the floor but are still seen in the arena area- does that count?

Yes we all have, but it was off the floor on the side at the team holding area, yes it is in the arena but not on the floor. Big difference. It does not hold up the next event or performance.

What is so wrong with not having anyone but the athlete on the floor? NCA Coaches are not allowed near the floor; they are behind a fence and see their team as they exit in the hall. NCA has been around for a much longer time than Worlds.

Hug your coach all you want in the back when you are watching your performance as a team. High five as you are walking to your heart’s content.

In the package if you get a 5 day hopper it will give you access to 3 days to WWS. Monday will be 3 sessions and you will need a ticket for each session.

I'm so upset about the price increase. What our family watched last year for $150 will this year cost us $510. That's a percentage hike of what???

I understand what you are saying but you also have to take into account there are extra days now that were not included last year. How many people paid last year and could not watch as well.
