Does it say anywhere what the those 3 sessions will consist of - division wise?

Sucks to think that this will more than likely rule out any international spectators attending. My dreams of watching worlds live is over. wah
I hereby invite all international spectators to NCA All-Star Nationals on March 2 and 3. I'll extend a free 2 day Admission (valued at $40) to any international spectators viewing this thread that sends me an email at [email protected]. Include your Fierceboard screenname so I can verify you are legit.

We typically have about 4 countries represented at NCA Nationals, so we don't have the same international flare. But NCA Nationals does have the following going for it:
- almost every single american Worlds Medal Contender attends NCA.Last year we had 23 out of 24 of the medal winners from the club divisions.
- 6 performance venues competing simultaneously, all within seconds of eachother
- the arena experience blows EVERY other competition out of the water
- arena will have over 12 hours straight of Level 5 performances. You won't have to get up out of your seat, except to go to the little boys/little girls room and to buy a pretzel.

I'm still in complete support of Worlds, but if the new pricing structure doesn't make it feasible, we'd love to have you in Dallas.

I will say this:
I am halfway through the 'Too Small a Venue' thread- and it seems like the only suggestions they took were @BlueCat's (raising ticket prices, making fans not want to go)- except in the next breath he says that it is the WORST thing they can do because it discourages the growth of cheer. Which it does. He then goes on to give ideas that I believe have more merit (the whole outdoor party scoreboard thing that gives people the energy but keeps them out of the venue, gym wristbands and special seating accordingly, etc) without discouraging the event and yet weren't done.

*PS- BlueCat it's not your fault- they just don't know how to read. :D

There was also threads on the Parens Action site with shark dad on this subject.

on page 2 nccheerdad starts the conversation of tickets and session / blocks

It's a simple solution. Do like any reasonably intelligent organization would do at a major event that anticipates a sell-out and break the sessions into blocks/sessions for tickets with assigned seating to be sold. Give parents of athletes early access to the sale of tickets, then open them up to the general public. The NCAA does this for all of their major championships that involve multiple games throughout a day.

I appreciate them taking our suggestions into consideration. I don't like that they ignored the legit ones and went for the SUPER 'out of left field' ones. Slight price increase or adjusting what your ticket gets you? Fine (BlueCat's suggestions were really awesome sounding). Special VIP area with wristbands just for people from that gym? Cool. (New gym moneymaker- sell them after worlds and make them a neat accessory! Like LIVESTRONG bracelets but Worlds-y) Heck- moving the judges stand so they can utilize more seats would be just breezy..A price markup of 210% and basically making it so only the really wealthy people can afford Worlds (pricing out most of the parents as well?). SO stupid.

ACEDAD:
I disagree. And I think USASF is shooting themselves in the foot because they will NOT realize that to grow the sport you have to grow SPECTATORS not just athletes/families. The days of families agreeing to pay more and more to support the sport are basically over; at least at a level to continue growth.

What Worlds HAS done over the last 9 years is begin to develop a core of spectators that love the sport and will likely support it for years to come, if the USASF doesn't screw it up.

What if we had a venue that would support 20,000 easily? In a place that didn't require hundreds of dollars to Disney? Where they could charge $50 a day instead of $25, but people wouldn't mind so much because most of them weren't spending a fortune outside of the tickets?

With the right growth plan and a focus on customer (read spectator not family) service, they might even be able to grow it to where competition fees could actually be reduced! Amazing!
USASF, you might need a bandaid- I think your foot is bleeding...

Heck, I am down for this. It has all the things I think Worlds is missing from a venue and logistics standpoint. Why not just start giving out winners of level 5 an NCA ring? Then you are leaving nothing out.

ASCheerMan. Love your invite to NCA for international board members. I had already adjusted my thinking that NCA is going to be my Worlds this year where I see many of my favorite teams.

The thread is the thread you quoted on, 'Too Small a Venue'

Some of the suggestions that were brought up we will not see any changes until the event is taking place, like moving the judge’s stand and VIP Seating. We will not know if the Jostens Center will be where the awards will be. Or if there will be a block party in the mall or tent set up until we arrive. Wrist bands, etc. Not saying they will happen but no one has said it will stay the same. Can not assume anything this year.

As far as the wealthy part I don’t agree 100% to that. I am not a normal parent and my involvement in photography will allow me to get a ticket for each event I want to shoot. Most parents and family will not. They will be happy with the 3 day. They watch their CP cheer in prelim. Use 1 day. They will go to finals using day 2 of 3 days. They are done. If they have a CP in the international division or ICU they will use the ticket for day 3. Again they are done. They could care less about divisions that does not involve their CP.

Last year the LG All Girl division was the most insane in the Milk House and it had the least number of teams. If you are a fan of that division you will by the ticket to see that division.

It was clear that things needed to change after the past several years, and it is clear change is on the way. Good or Bad
